Ellie
We've never met but I am thinking of you too. I lost my little one on Valentine's Day this year and I know how you must be grieving because I am.
It's a privilege to have them in our lives isn't it? I'll always be grateful for the time I had with her.....but it's a tough one at the moment.
Try and take a bit of solace from the fact you made a real difference to the life of a wonderful dog.
Sincerely

Hi Friends, I lost my beloved Maisy last night. She was 8 and my first baby, been around longer than the husband and was my best friend. She was my constant little companion.
She was fine but then overnight she puffed up like she had swallowed a basket ball and on taking her to the vets found that she had large masses on her spleen, liver, lungs and fluid in her belly and lungs. She was struggling to breathe and I had to make the absolutely heart wrenching decision to let her go so that she wouldn't suffer.
I don't really know what to do with myself as it's such a shock and very raw.
But I wanted to post this as she is a staffy and she was the softest sloppiest cwtchiest dog I have ever met. She was amazing with my toddler and has been amazing around my newborn. A staffy is an amazing family pet and I really feel that the breed need to be promoted.
I am pining terribly for her and reading these poems has made me feel remotely better.
She will be missed terribly and hopefully anyone considering a staffy will read this and it may sway their decision. I'm not sure how I feel at the moment about another dog as I don't think I will ever find a friend to fill maisys boots.
Sleep tight Maisy Moo xxx

Run free Maisie, it's all to much of a shock at the moment. Look back on the great times and comfort you shared, you will never replace her, in time there will be another bond with a furry family member
