I would definitely like to get involved with this BUT if Hugo is coming home with me next week then obviously I'll have my hands full with him for the foreseeable. Would it be better for me to fill in a form now and register in case he doesn't come home with me or to wait until after I know and hope you've got space for me?

Hi, I am a teacher so I don't often have much free time, but now I've broken up for summer I would love to help out with the morning walks. Is there any chance I could or is it too short a time?

I think it would be great to have some extra walkers through the holidays I'm sure more than a few of our regulars will be taking a holiday through the school holidays. We'll arrange some inductions in the next 2 weeks, please keep an eye on this thread. Have you registered on-line? xx

Hi everyone. Sorry I've not been down for a while, think about 5 or 6 weeks Things have been a bit hectic with one thing and another. I was just wondering do I need to re-register to come back? (Think my walker number is 219). I have been keeping an eye on the forum seeing who's found their forever homes and love reading all the walker updates. Really miss being there seeing all the lovely furry ones Also was wondering if you still need any help for the Summer Show on 3rd Aug? Hope to see you soon Sarah x

Info for Christmas Day Although our dogs will be spending Christmas Day in a kennel, we are going to do everything we can to make the day special for them! We will be walking the dogs as usual. Registered walkers - please bring your leads and your happy feet, arrive between 9 - 9.30am. Unregistered walkers are also welcome, please join us at 9.30am prompt for a mini induction. Bring proof of ID and a sense of humour! Dogs have to be back in their kennels by 11.00 am latest for their nap before they tuck into their Turkey-with-all-the-trimmings Christmas Dinner! And in the afternoon, instead of watching the Queens Speech, our precious pooches will be listening to soft, sweet carols whilst they are playing with their new toys, and enjoying their stuffed hooves & filled bones which have been so very generously donated. On Christmas night, they can all sleep peacefully, dreaming about their forever homes Start your Christmas Day by doing a kind thing for a homeless dog, it's the least we can do for them whilst they are waiting to meet their forever families.

Our 'Last Sunday' inductions have been a fabulous success! Due to the number of requests for an alternative to Sunday inductions, we decided to ring the changes in April, and held this months induction on Saturday, 23rd at 12.30pm We sparked up the barbie, put on t'kettle, and thanks to our seasoned Pilgrims who turned out in force to welcome our 'newbies' a great day was had by all, not least of all our dogs! We'd like to say a big 'welcome' to all our new Purple Pilgrims Here are some pics from the day! Registration ran like clockwork! Get your walker number here! Michele, our key admininstrator! Queuing for your walker number isn't so bad when Chef du Jour M. Ricki Brothwell is in charge of the barbie tongs! As ever, we are so grateful to our fab friends at Welsh Bros, who provided the comestibles for the day! Jen & Ricki Becky: How may I serve you today? Seems to be going down a treat! Pre-induction was a good opportunity to chat with seasoned Pilgrims. Waste not want not eh? Away to the garden for the Baglady Briefing! With grateful thanks to Tai! Our 'Four on the Floor' demonstrator, and 'How to say hello to a strange dog' stooge! He was golden! Thank you to everyone who turned out for our April induction! As the last Sunday in May falls the day before the Fonmon Show - which is going to be an 'all hands on deck' event for Friends, we haven't yet set a date for the May induction, but please keep an eye on this post and our Facebook and Twitter feeds for details.

CALLING ALL REGISTERED WALKERS!!!!!
We have been very short of walkers for the last few weeks - CDH is packed with lots of beautiful dogs all desperate to get out of their kennels for some much needed exercise and that's where you come in!
If you could just spare an hour or two to walk one of our pooches, we (and most importantly, the dogs!) would really appreciate it! It can be mornings, afternoons, weekends - whenever you can.
If all of our registered walkers give gave just 1 hour per MONTH - all the dogs would get 2 walks a day! - not much to ask really is it?
Don't forget - only 2 more late nights for walkers at CDH before the clocks go back, (a chance to walk after work?) Next Monday 24th and Thursday 26th October - CDH open for walkers until 6.00p.m.

CALLING ALL REGISTERED WALKERS!!
CDH is full to bursting at the moment so if you have an hour to spare please pop down to the home to give one of our pooches a much needed break from kennels.
Also, with this hot weather, the earlier the better please, before it gets too hot to walk - the home is open EVERYDAY for walkers from 8 a.m.
