Please say hello to Saffron This whiskery delight has just arrived with her gal pal Harmony (also K39) The girls get along great, but the staff aren't looking to rehome them together Saffron is underweight at the moment and is definitely in need of feeding up a bit. She was understandably very keen to get the treats so walkers, its definitely "on the floor" with this girl Saffron enjoyed a fuss and seemed very calm and quiet. We really look forward to some walkers stories on this lurchery lovely!! Saffron is available for rehoming on 16th July. If you'd like more info on her, please phone the Dogs' Home: 029 2071 1243 or visit Cardiff Dogs' Home, Westpoint Industrial Estate, Penarth Road, open 7 days a week, 10.30 - 4pm. Mon/Thurs till 6pm.

She'll soon put on that missing weight and the staff & walkers will work their magic.
Fingers crossed for a forever home sooner rather than later!

I joined Arianne in the garden with Saffron and Im oh so with her!! I took her for a short walk first and she walks very well on the lead, no pulling, no criss crossing, just a nice steady pace We took her in the garden and whilst she is very food orientated (no wonder, poor girl was a bag of bones when she arrived at CDH) she also loves a fuss and is all about the people. She really is a sweetheart who deserves her own family to love.

Bump up for this adorable girl, if my handbag was big enough I think we would have snuck off with her. We are big Lurcher fans and this girl did not disappoint. We had the pleasure of Saffron's company this evening for a quick leg stretch as she had been spayed just yesterday. She's a bouncy pup and was very excitable to start but who wouldn't be after being cooped up. At the start It took some enticing to walk down the lane, bless her she kept looking back as if to say 'I'm comfortable there'. But after some patience she trotted nicely alongside us. Constantly looking up for reassurance. It was a hot one so we sat on the wall for a little while in the shade and had a little fuss. This girl is full of scabs and her ribs are so prominent, she doesn't let that get her down though she has so much love to give and she loved a good ear scratch and cwtch. With some TLC and a patience to help her trust again she will be a fantastic addition to any family. Please someone adopt her, before we remortgage the house. Just look at the smile she gives..

*someone patient, meant to say.
Just to add we passed Murray and Josh at a safe distant and although she showed interest, this girl didn't bark or pull towards the boys when they passed, she just stood and stared and once passed trotted along again nicely.

Hi Helen, Saff was picked up as a stray so exact age will be unknown, but the vets may have given her an approximate age. I have met her a few times and I don't think she's very old at all, maybe around 3?? Im no expert though so ask the guys at the Home. You are in for a treat with her, she's absolutely delicious!!

I adopted Pip (Lexi) from CDH two months ago - she's a short haired lurcher and a total delight. I love her to bits and though we're still working on recall, she's brilliant in all other ways. If I'd had her for longer I'd certainly be there in a second to try to adopt Saffron - she looks to be a perfect sister to Pip. Whoever adopts her is in for a treat if she's any where near as gorgeous as Pip. Good luck Saffron, you deserve a good and loving home. Pip sends her love :-)

Hi Becky thanks for the reply! If we came to see her on the weekend, do you know if it would be ok to bring our dog with us to meet her?

Hey Helen, if you have another dog they would have to meet so that's no problem to bring your dog at all. You don't need an appointment but I would give the staff a call to let them know what time you are calling in just so they can make sure Saffron isn't out with a volunteer walker Give them a bell on 02920 711243 x
