I walked this delightful girl with my daughter a few days ago, she was an absolute joy to walk. The lead was nice and slack, no pulling from her. She is a very busy bee when she gets out of her kennel and loves sniffing along the walk as if she is taking in all the information. She had us in stiches, when we got to the end of the lane, as we walked past the low wall she just effortlessly jumped onto it and walked along. She's very sweet and kept trying to get on our laps but not in a rude boisterous way, but so very gently. I was tempted to pop her under my coat and take her home, but thought someone might notice! Look at this little face, such a lovely smile.

Heartbroken to not even be given a chance to adopt Molly. The feedback from the other application that got chosen initially over ours (and then chose not to adopt her) was such that CDH are now likely to withdraw Molly from the rehomable dogs altogether and we were not even able to trial her in our home. Can't help but thinking there is another universe out there where Molly came to us first and is happy in our home. Really is a shame as we did successful intros with my parents dog and spent probably 20-30 hours with her walking and getting to know her over the last month between us.

Oh no, what's happened?
Please God she doesn't have to be put to sleep.
JamesOsbourne - is there any chance you can persuade CDH to give you and Molly a chance? It sounds as though you really want her to be part of your family
I'll keep everything crossed for you all

Molly is certainly in no danger of being put to sleep, his girl is a sweetheart! I think James meant that the Manager is possibly looking at a rescue space for Molly, maybe his wording was a bit confusing x

Thanks Becky - very much. I was feeling a bit sick about her prospects, so that's a real relief - appreciate your update
Everything crossed for this beautiful little girl ......husband won't budge on us adopting a third at the moment but I'm employing something akin to Chinese water torture!
Good Luck Molly - and Godspeed in your future

james didn't mean that she was potentially going to be put down, only that we were advised that she would most likely need to go to a dedicated rescue centre and probably couldn't be rehomed by cardiff dogs home due to her needs. We did ask if we could maybe foster her for a few days while they thought about it, as our situation is very different to the other applicants and might have worked for her, but i think they want to focus on a rescue spot instead. We both are pretty gutted but the right dog has to be there somewhere, in the mean time I hope Molly finds a fab rescue spot as she really came across as a sweet little girl

Davehr - you would need to speak to the staff directly as to the kind of home they are looking for for Molly. We are vols here and none of us get invlolved in the rehoming or application process. The staff base their decisions on what is best for the individual dogs so they will be able to answer your questions

I walked this lovely girl again this morning, she really is a gem, walks so well on the lead, gentle as a mouse bless her. We walked along Penarth road and over by the boat yard where she could have a good sniff around away from the noisy traffic, she does like to sniff and explore everything she sees. She's such a friendly, affectionate dog that I can't see why she hasn't been rehomed successfully yet. She toileted soon as she came out of kennels, and loves nothing more than one to one attention, which is why I think she'd be more suited to an only dog in a household but with the opportunity for lots of doggy friends outside the home :)Come on CDH there's been lots of interest in this sweet girl surely one of them can offer her a good home and get her out of kennels where she's less than happy at the moment xx
Only coopied down to give her a treat and up she was on my knee for a selfie lol

I took Molly out for almost 2 hours today and the time flew by. She hasn't got a bad bone in her body, she's so sweet and gentle. I went over to starbucks, bought a drink and a sausage sandwich and shared it with her on the bench. Molly waited brilliantly for her pieces, she did put her front two paws up on my legs but all I had to saw was "down" in a really quiet voice and she was down in a second. The starbucks assistant did laugh when I said "no sauce in my sausage roll please, it's for the dog outside" hehe

Well, my favourite girlie has left the building. As most of you will know, Molly found kennel life very difficult and stressful. She is an extremely anxious little girl, very insecure, and is likely to need a forever family who is around most of the time, and willing to work with her over the coming weeks, months, and maybe even years to help her learn how to relax. Molly has been transferred to a Dogs Trust rehoming centre, and we are keeping everything crossed that they will be able to find the perfect forever sofa for her. Molly, you took a little bit of my heart with you sweetie. Auntie Suze will be keeping in touch, and might even bring you some of your favourite Yorkshire puddings on Sunday. Massive thanks to our fab walkers who took Molly into their hearts, and especially to auntie Claire who always brought Molly a special treat on Sundays. Honestly Claire, I think this little girl would have wasted away without your special Sunday dinners. Good luck Molly, gone from CDH, but not forgotten, never ever forgotten beautiful girl, see you soon eh?
