Please give a very warm welcome to the gorgeous Tia
Some extremely unfortunate circumstance have lead to Tia finding herself at CDH and although she seems a little subdued at the moment, she is very pleased to have some company and was extremely gentle and welcoming towards us today.
Tia needs a little TLC and lots of regular walks to shift a few pounds but the team here will have her looking fabulous in no time!
Treats will be a no-go for Tia I'm afraid, she's going to need a healthy new year diet, but for her pics we wanted to see what tricks Tia was able to do and she did certainly know her basic commands.
Tia was very polite around the treats and was very gentle taking them, She is an absolute sweetheart and I'm sure in no time she will perk up and we will see her true personality!
Tia will be available for rehoming on 30th December , but the staff at the home will take applications now. If you would like more information on her please phone the Dogs' Home: 029 2071 1243 or visit Cardiff Dogs' Home, Westpoint Industrial Estate, Penarth Road, open 7 days a week, 10.30 - 4pm. Mon/Thurs till 6pm

Tia was my first walk of this afternoon, she is such an adorable dog, but she struggles to walk for to long because she is carrying so much weight, we managed 12 minutes, before Tia wanted to turn back, Tia will stop and turn back when she has had enough and waits for you to go back. To be honest I don't think Tia could walk much more, so maybe 20 minute walks a couple of times, which I noted with staff. While out on our walk we had no problems passing other dogs, and I found she loves a stroke and sometimes needs encouragement to walk. Tia is a wonderful dog and would defiantly walk with her again. How far we got before wanted to walk back

One thing for sure Tia takes the rain in her stride, she loved her walk this afternoon and yes the heavens opened! It was the second time I've kept Tia company and she is definitely gaining in confidence, happy to walk along at an easy pace for half hour while I chatted away to her.

Had a lovely walk with Tia today, and she manages much further than our first walk. It's so good to see that Tia has lost a few pounds because she was struggling when she first arrived. But what a difference between the two walks. Tia is amazing when passing others including dogs, Tia responds well to her name and loves a cuddle. Really hope this beautiful girls gets a loving family to enjoy, she melts your heart looking at you with her beautiful eyes.

Tia what a beautiful happy girl you are. Seen her on her walk today and the lady who walked her said she smiled from the minute she came out to the minute she came back. If she doesn't put a smile on your face then I don't know what will. Tia stay happy you are golden xx

Everytime I see Tia my smile gets bigger, if that can happen. When Tia first came to cdh she was struggling to walk and was extremely overweight. Tia is coming on in leaps and bounds, she has lost a good few kilos and walks with no problems now, which means she enjoys her walks a lot more. Tia and I'm sure you will continue your progress as your in safe hands.

Tia may be getting on a little, but she is determined to pay for her keep while she's waiting for her forever home, and has kindly agreed to model our lovely all weather coats. These fabulously stylish coats come in all colours, as long as it's purple. They feature the Friends of the Dogs logo on the left..... And our very generous sponsors, the very admirable Admiral Insurance, on the right... Thanks to Admiral, Friends has a plentiful supply of the hautest doggie couture outerwear... Available in all sizes, from itsty bitsy puppy (kindly modelled by Nelson) Through 'mid range'... (thank you Missy)! And 'for the fuller figure' ..... Mia: Fuller Figure? Purlease!!! Tia has also asked us to point out that 'It's all in the detail......' Tia is still waiting to meet her forever family.

Tia is a lovely girl! Loving the coats! I quite often walk around the bay or leckwith retail park with some of the dogs out on walks, so these are perfect for 'showing the dogs off' shall we say xx

Walked the lovely Tia as part of my induction. What a gem she is! I'm not use to big dogs but Tia was so easy going and gentle that she made it easy. She'd be a great companion to anyone and I hope she's not waiting too long for her forever home.

Tia says 'thank you' to everyone who made her life at the Home bearable while she was waiting to find her forever family.... And we're thrilled to say she wasn't waiting too long! Congrats to Tia's new peeps, you've got yourselves a golden girl in Tia!
