I've walked Gabriel a couple of times now and he's just brilliant. I do love leggy dogs and with his blonde fur - it's a match made in heaven, he looks so much better than he did when he first arrived. Walking, (my version of) jogging or standing still - Gabriel is a dream boat and will happily lean against you for some real good quality fusses.

My first ever walk as a CDH volunteer walker (freshly inducted on Sunday 31st Jan 2016) was Gabriel. What a sweetie - he was happy to walk along briskly, stop to sniff, walk past other dogs without fuss. In fact, he was very easy for a first-time walker. He'll have me trained in no time. With so many people being inducted today, by this afternoon it was Gabriel's 3rd walk of the day. He was lovely, enjoyed the walk, and he wasn't a bit bored of up and down the lane, the carpark, the busy road and back again. Gabriel checked every now and then that I was happy to continue. I didn't take photos of this walk but I am looking forward to further walks with Gabriel. He is a lovely sweet character and very good-looking too.

Walked this beautiful boy earlier. Absolute pleasure! Good on the lead, friendly and an all round gorgeous creature! Clearly enjoyed his walk, ended with yawning, so hopefully had a good sleep this afternoon!

My boyfriend and I walked Gabe today for our first ever walk! Judging from the previous posts he definitely seems to have grown in confidence. He was raring to walk as fast as possible and knew the way to the park better than us

Gabe or Gabriel.....this handsome boy has had a couple of nights at hotel du dogs,so here goes. Firstly he travels well in the car he met up with Elsie was an absolute gent very calm a quick nose to nose wagging tales and in the back he got and lay down immediately......he's very laid back and placid and wasn't phased at all. What it's easy to forget is he probably hasn't had much In house time, but when he got in he was curious but not erratic and soon found his comfy spot in the lounge. "No pictures please I'm chilling with my bone" After his breakfast the following morning he had a snooze and then Elsie,Gabe and myself went for a run.... Well I was running Elsie and Gabe were trotting but he loved it was polite and unphased by other dogs in that respect he's bombproof. Charlie was correct he should've been called Velcro he is so affectionate and sticks to you like glue. Thing is with Gabe it's easy to forget he's young he needs a bit of training but with a loving and caring upbringing he is really going to flourish. He loves his food he was fab with Elsie and walks absolutely beautifully. He will suit energetic people or a family you know the score no cats right, but he is a sweetheart and a handsome boy. Loves his treats and Helen became his best mate she got him to sit nicely by the end of the night with a bit of coaxing. Us mates....mates Like I said before a little bit of training, love and support and patience you are going to have a beautiful loyal loving dog. Please bare this in mind and you'll be rewarded ten fold. Gabe your life can only get better good boy, your an absolute star....the pleasure was ours.

Gabriel is another darling, he has put on the weight he needed to and looks fab now and enjoys human company much more than he used to. My six year old daughter loves Gabriel and did a talk about him in school yesterday.

Each time we visit the home, my youngest daughter has taken a shine to Gabriel and always wants to walk him and spend time with this adorable lurcher. He may not like cats but has no problems passing other dogs and humans. Gabriel is easy to manage and really enjoys spending time with adults and children.
Please let me share your sofa ❤️

Gabriel thank you for sharing the glorious sunshine with us this morning. Ollie (my 7 year old, who probably gave you too many cuddles, sorry!) is still talking about you. You were lively but well behaved, and it was lush to see you lift your tail bounding up the hill! You are such a gentle soul, silent and refined, but we know you quietly had a great time - we did too. Love you ?

Oh Gabriel , my brave little man , you were so good when some men decided to come on the pavement with dirt bikes. You were such a sweet walk today when the rain had cleared up , barely felt like you were on the lead at all there was so much slack. For a boy who came to the home so skinny you certainly developed a nose for food. The treats sealed and hidden in my pocket were no match of yours! "I'm not going anywhere until you give up the goods lady!" He was so stubborn about it , we weren't going anywhere until I caved. I don't tend to give treats out for nothing but Gabe was certain it was going to be that way. I went to put it on the floor and he ever to gently took it from my hand , guess patience isn't really a virtue is it Gabe? This is a dog who definitely loves a good cuddle and has a luxuriously soft coat , makes me want to just sit and pet him all day! We also enjoyed a little jog just to get rid of some energy before closing time , maybe I'll bring my running shoes next time and I can try and keep up with you. Gabe can also give Alfie competition for the one floppy ear look! Overall a brilliant dog who needs to be let out on a field for a good run around and then some warm cuddles at home after!

What lovely comments from everyone and so nice to hear the lucky boy got to stay at Hotel Du Dogs ) Nicole I love your pictures too...so sweet. Gabriel is absolutely gorgeous. He's a real gentleman to walk and is such an affectionate dog. He's looking as good as new now with his lovely golden coat and has a healthy appetite. He loved running around the garden and has so much energy. All in all a brilliant young dog who will made an amazing friend.

I'm over the moon to read this! I'm going to miss you special man , you worked that charm of yours and landed yourself a forever home . You were so gentle on walks , but now you can have proper ones and eventually go off lead and run around and that makes me so happy! Good luck for the future!

Absolutely gutted to have to tell you Gabriel has been returned, less than 24 hours after leaving CDH. He hasn't put a paw wrong Guys, we know how loved Gabe is by everyone on here, and everyone who meets him, so let's give him all the help we can, and keep our thoughts about 'anything else' to ourselves Onwards and upwards eh Gabe
