Please give a warm welcome to Ben! Poor Ben has found himself homeless at 12 years old Very sadly Ben has been signed over to cdh as his owner has become ill and is no longer able to care for him. This must have been a heartbreaking decision to make. He may be 12, but noone seems to have told Ben that, he's lively and has plenty of energy! In the vets room we saw his playful side as he enjoyed throwing around a few of the toys and balls. But it's people that really floats his boat, coming in for kisses and cuddles with us freqently. And who are we to say no thanks?! Pucker up! As happens to many older dogs, sadly Ben is starting to have less vision that he used to, so he will need some help orienting himself in his new surroundings. He does have some vision though, and it certainly didn't hold him back at all from bounding around with us and knowing where to plant his many kisses He is a lovely lovely boy and I hope he's not waiting long, it must be a very confusing place to be for him, kennels is no place for an older boy Ben will be available for rehoming on 29th December, but the staff at the home will take applications now. If you would like more information on him please phone the Dogs' Home: 029 2071 1243 or visit Cardiff Dogs' Home, Westpoint Industrial Estate, Penarth Road, open 7 days a week, 10.30 - 4pm. Mon/Thurs till 6pm For more information about the rehoming process at Cardiff Dogs Home, please click on the link below: friendsofcardiffdogs.proboards.com/thread/5880/guide-adoption-procedures

Oh dear poor Ben At least he's somewhere where people will make sure he's loved as much as a dog in kennels can be, and I have no doubt that such a sweet old boy will find a nice cosy sofa very soon Good luck Ben! xx

OMG he looks just like my Sidney who I fostered a few years ago for another rescue. It isn't because Siddy lives in the north east of England with the most amazing forever family and sent me a lovely Christmas photo but oh wow that first photo tugged at my heartstrings - he is so like him.

Had a lovely little stroll with Ben. He is so cute and looks like a teddy bear. Ben loves a good sniff and passes people and dogs fine. Hope you find your forever sofa soon Ben, it was a pleasure walking with you today.

Ben! What a beautiful boy you are! I went to meet Ben with the idea of making an application for him! I currently have an older terrier who I thought would be great with him. Long story short, getting a new dog all depended on how Jinx was with the other dog, if they complimented each other's personalities and active levels. Well after careful consideration, I felt that Ben would benefit from a home a bit quieter and relaxed than ours. He preferred his short walk that he had with me due to his bad leg, and I feel he would have struggled if he were to accompany me and Jinx on our long hikes. So I am sad to say that Ben wasn't our match. HOWEVER.... here I am to boost his post because he is one lovely boy! He loved a short walk, sniffing around etc. He seems to be really well mannered around other dogs. He loved a good cwtch and it's safe to say, when you adopt an older dog, it is more often than not that he will be house trained. This boy seems that way for sure. He is a cuddly, good mannered boy who needs a quiet home where he can enjoy his retirement years! Despite him being terrier, I feel on this individual basis he might enjoy a home where he gets a simple 20 minute walk twice a day! Good luck Ben! xxxx

I've taken Ben out for a couple of walks! He's a funny little thing, loves his walks and a cuddle too.

If you like your small dogs scruffy then look no further. Ben is as cute and scruffy as they get. He might be 12 years old but no ones told him! He loves getting out and about and sniffing at everything is can reach. He enjoys going at his own pace, and really won't say no to a cuddle. He has a a great personality and brings a smile to anyone's face Is this close enough for my close up Scruffy is the new cute There's something funny over there! Yep, that's the spot

Aw Ben what a handsome boy you are! my hubby saw him being walked today as he resembles my sisters dog that recently went to rainbow bridge, and thought he was a young dog, when I told him he was 12 he couldn't believe it. I so hope you find your retirement home soon gorgeous boy, you need some home comforts x

We are interested in adopting Ben. We live in West Wales, I am retired, my husband still working. We have three dogs currently (two JRT/crosses) and a lurcher, two cats, two donkeys, chickens and ducks. If you think he would be happy here we would be more than willing for him to end his days with us.

You need to contact cardiff dogs home phone - phone number is on the guide to adoption procedures. Sounds like you could give him a lovely home! Good luck!
