Oh my, if this little face doesn't break your heart......
Max has been brought into CDH as a stray. That doesn't mean he was born in the woods and raised by wolves, nor did he drag himself up on the streets with a pack of dogs. He didn't pack his bags and storm out of his home after a row..... he belongs to someone, and he is missing them so very very much. How could they not be missing him?
Max has perfect manners, he said hello, he showed us his 'sit', but he is beside himself with anxiety, and wasn't interested in even the tastiest treats, the squeakiest toys, or the most rugged raggies.....
He was trotting around the vet room, trying all the doors, looking towards the windows, every now and then he would respond to our call and come and sit next to us, to see if a cuddle from a stranger would make him feel better,
...but it didn't.
He kissed my face off-handedly, as if to say 'Yeah, thanks Aunty Sooz, but it's not you I need'........
Max was simply getting more and more anxious in the vet room. We took him outside to see if he wanted to explore his new surroundings, have a little sniff around, but there was absolutely no consoling Max
.... so we packed some good stuff into a Kong, made sure his bed and blankies were warm and cosy, and put him back into his kennel. Without a doubt he will settle in time. We still haven't given up hope that Max's owners will come forward for him, neither has Max
Max will be available for rehoming from 6th January if no-one comes forward to claim him, but the staff at the home will take applications now. If you would like more information on him please phone the Dogs' Home: 029 2071 1243 or visit Cardiff Dogs' Home, Westpoint Industrial Estate, Penarth Road, open 7 days a week, 10.30 - 4pm. Mon/Thurs till 6pm
