This beautiful face belongs to Red.
Red is very energetic, therefore it was hard to get any decent photographs, but she certainly is a joy to spend some time with!
She came happily out of her kennel with Jen and I and in the vet room was very happy to bound between the pair of us lapping up some fusses. As soon as she spotted the tennis ball though, we were no longer of any importance to her, it was all about the tennis ball!!
She would always take it back to the bed and chew it, looking immensely proud for having it!
Red is on the walkers list and is able to go out for walks straight away, it'll be great for our purple pilgrims to snap some shots of her on her adventures and update the feed.
Red is affectionate and playful and I'm sure that whoever has the chance to give this girl a forever home is going to be very lucky to have her as an addition to their household!
Red will be available for rehoming on 3rd February, but the staff at the home will take applications now. If you would like more information on her please phone the Dogs' Home: 029 2071 1243 or visit Cardiff Dogs' Home, Westpoint Industrial Estate, Penarth Road, open 7 days a week, 10.30 - 4pm. Mon/Thurs till 6pm

We were really lucky to have Red's company this afternoon. She is one happy little lady who is so eager to give you her heart! She walks well on the lead but even better if you hit a slow jog I can't do photos on here yet, but picture if you will ... a very waggy tail, big smile, "yep, I'll have a fuss and scratch anytime now please", and "oh yeah, didn't I tell you I love EVERYTHING", That would be Red.

Walked this tiny girl today, what a lovely girl on the lead. She behaved herself throughout and was happy to have strokes and sloppy kisses. Not bothered by traffic. She is a lovely dog, and I think someone will adopt her soon!

Red thank you for your lovely company this afternoon. You were such a good girl on the lead, no pulling, just wanted to walk! Never walked a staffy before but now see the attraction! She wagged her tail a lot and enjoyed a cuddle. We had a lovely cwtch outside the Porsche garage, and both dreamt of driving off in one... Then woke up and finished our walk. Red, you were such a good girl, wishing you luck in your search for your forever home xxx

It's always tempting to walk the dogs you know and are comfortable with, but it's fab to meet new ones too and yesterday after walking two of my 'regulars' I took this lovely girl out for the first time. Red is adorable, much smaller than I imagined and soooooo affectionate!! She does amazing staffie snorts and is such a happy little thing. No pulling, not phased by any passing vehicle or person, Red just enjoys being out and about. We had lots of cwtches along the way and I loved every minute we spent together. Another beautiful dog deserving a wonderful loving home.

Don't know how I have missed spending time with Red. She is absolutely adorable. Again we went in the garden, myself and my son. Red really enjoyed my sons company and really enjoyed playing with him. Especially having tummy rubs with him. We then got some toys out for Red to enjoy. For a while Red was playing with the toys be chose but then she decided to help herself to what toys she wanted. Red is such a lovely girl to spend time with. Really hope she finds her forever home soon.

I took Red out again in the week and we both enjoyed some sunshine. She really is a beautiful dog and has such a lovely temperament. She's very sweet and affectionate, looking up every now and again whilst out walking. She enjoys a treat and is happy to sit for it. Has anyone out there got some room on their sofa for this little one...she won't take up much room x

Oh beautiful lady, how are you still here?! We took Red out on Monday and she's such a sweet little girl. She came out of her kennel with a toy and carried it very proudly as we made our way down the driveway. Once we made it out to the various car parks just outside the Home (before you get to the main road), Red seemed a little hesitant to go any further and instead gave us a lot of hints that she wanted to play instead. She'd drop her toy and refuse to leave it, but whenever we went to pick it up and carry it, she'd start dancing around and get ready to fetch. We tried a few times to get her out a bit further but, as this was Red's walk, we let her decide what we were going to do! There was a nice grassy patch away from the cars and we took it in turns throwing the toy and then running with her after it. And there were a few very close games of tug-of-war as well! Red really loves human company and even with toys around, she seems to want you involved. Otherwise it's just not fun! At one point she decided to shuffle under some sparse bushes and leave her toy there, but refused to pick it back up and bring it out. Guess who had to go in after it! It was worth being scratched by thorns though to see those gorgeous big eyes and that beautiful smile when I returned with her toy. After a while of playing we brought her back to the Home and let one of the staff know she'd seemed hesitant to go towards the main road. At first we thought it might be due to the noisy traffic, but the staff member suggested it might be because she'd gone out without her harness. It definitely seemed to make sense, considering how much more confident she'd been last time, so it's worth making sure for future walkies that she's got her harness on. I noticed in previous photos that she hasn't always got her harness on, so maybe she just really wanted to play?! Whatever the reason, she was still nothing short of wonderful! There was absolutely zero toy-aggression - Red was only to happy to share! We had a lovely time playing and we'll certainly have to look into getting trained in the garden so we can try that next time - though hopefully she'll be with a new family soon enough!

Lovely update! I have only taken Red out once and as soon as we got out on the main road she did not want to move But she was full of life and beans on the estate and the lane, so I'm not sure, seems a bit hit and miss, will take her out again and ask for the harness, see what happens xx
