I don't know how we went for so long without walking Jenny! She's an absolutely gorgeous girl, and so sweet! We took her on Tuesday morning, so the weather wasn't wonderful, but Jenny was just the perfect walking companion. I forgot to read her write-ups on here before we headed out but it's obvious how much she's changed now she's settled in. After a minute or two of understandable excitement after leaving her kennel, Jenny settled right into a lovely pace and barely strayed from our sides the entire walk. There was barely any pulling except for when she noticed something interesting. Jenny loves to interact with people and she was constantly checking back to make sure we were still with her, tail wagging the whole way. We bought a tennis ball with us as a treat and she loved to just hold it as we walked, munching away every so often. We encountered a few dogs and there was no barking or growling, just some snorting and interest. She did have the tennis ball in her mouth at the time but I imagine if there'd been any real aggression/curiosity, the ball wouldn't have been enough to distract her. She sat beautifully for a treat when asked and also offered up a paw, though after she realised we had treats hidden in the bag, everytime one of us went to get something out of it or our pockets, she'd suddenly appear with a big smile and waggy tail! This girl certainly loves her treats but she's very gentle when taking them, and I think she'd be only too happy to learn some new tricks with some incentive. We had some brief cuddles but didn't stop for long due to the rain, but Jenny is definitely a very loving dog. I've no idea why she's been in the Home for so long, but hopefully she won't be without a new family for much longer!

Took the lovely Miss Jenny for a walk this morning. Its the first walk I've done with her and was very impressed. She was reactive to a dog we met in the lane, but once we had passed, she was cool as a cucumber for the remainder of the walk and hardly lifted her nose to passing walkers and cyclists. She was responsive to her name and kept 'checking in' with me. Jenny was quite gentle on the lead and the lead hung loose for most of the walk. Also, I have to say she has the most impressive staffie roll I've seen so far!! Good luck beautiful girl x

Jenny was our second walk of Thursday morning and brilliant as ever. She walks almost at heel for pretty much the entire walk, only pulling when there's something very interesting that needs investigating. She can be a little unsure of and vocal towards some dogs but is easy enough to control, and with others she barely reacts - especially if she's got a tennis ball! Nothing a little extra training and tlc can't help with. As with Red, I don't think her behaviour is intended to be aggressive, she's just a little unsure and/or enthusiastic and has a different way of showing it. This lovely lady could definitely benefit from a garden, as she adores rolling around in the grass. Either that or a new family who'll take her on plenty of walkies so she can roll to her heart's content! About every six steps she would just flop over sideways, tennis ball firmly in mouth, and have a good old roll around. Jenny was definitely pulling out her 'I'm so very cute' card that morning! She's a gorgeous and loving dog who just needs a home to call her own - there'd be no shortage of cwtches or affection with this lovely lady around! vid1078.photobucket.com/albums/w484/cardiffdogshome/Red%20and%20Jenny%2019-05-16/VID-20160519-00000_zpsrz0rq9sf.mp4(excuse the poor video, my phone is terrible)

Aww lovely Jenny she is such a sweetheart, I really enjoy our walks together, she is so calm on the lead, and hardly bats an eyelid to other dogs walking past now, such an easy walk, no pulling at all, and very photogenic! She also does a fab sit and paw for treats Followed by lovely Staffie snogs! You have been waiting too long Jenny, why have your forever family not found you yet? X

Big up for the lovely Jenny Took her out this afternoon, and she was such a sweetheart. The moment we got to a patch of grass, Jenny was rolling in it, asking for tummy tickles! We got as far as the grass back on penarth road, and yes, more rolling and tummy tickles! I decided to sit in the grass too as this is what Jenny seemed to want to do, and she settled down, and sat very happily next to me for close on 20 mins At one point she had her head on my lap and was very close to falling asleep It's this moment that actually got me a little emotional, as Jenny has been waiting so long, and her laying down with me like that, could be in someones garden, or indeed, sofa, it was a very special moment. Jenny loves people, and the love she gave me this afternoon was endless....she just needs somebody to realise how much love she has to give. Lovely Jenny, I really hope you get your forever home soon, thank you for the cuddles today, your a star! No pictures sorry ( GUTTED! ) just as I was about to click to take a pic, my phone died! Anyhow, you all know how special Jenny is. If you don't, go and meet her, you won't be disappointed x

Mum and I had a lovely hour with Jenny yesterday. Apart from some barking passing a dog at the beginning of the walk she was good as gold and so sweet. In fact we lost count of the number of times we said 'good girl jenny' to her! She started the walk with her precious tennis ball but left it at the bottom of the lane. We were impressed that on the way back she remembered and picked it up. Her legendary rolls are hilarious and didn't fail to surprise us when she did them! All round a lovely girl. This beautiful redhead has been in the home far too long, please get to know her people and you will see what a cracking girl she is. X

Walked JENNY last week. She was very well behaved on the lead and a lovely girl to boot. She was vocal when we passed another dog in close quarters, but didn't mind when dogs were a little further away. She loves her toys, and her rolling around in the grass. Its so sad that she is still at the home, but hopefully she will get adopted soon and some family will be very lucky to have her :-)

Adopting a dog from a dogs home is one of the kindest things you can do, and you will change that dogs life for the better. It gives you an amazing feeling. For some people, there is an added attraction when you know the dog really, really needs you, more than other dogs might. I walked Jenny again today. Some facts about her; she has been described as gorgeous, lush, stunning, patient, beautiful. The walkers know she is lovely to walk. Yes, she can get a bit vocal around other dogs on occasion, but please just read the threads and you will see that she is a lovely girl. The last fact is that poor Jenny, with the sweet face and sad eyes, has been in the dogs home for 6 months, that's way too long and she really needs her own family now. Think about it, think about her, go and meet her. Xx

Had a lovely walk with Jenny today, who I affectionately call ' Jelly Baby ' Jenny was today as always, a star She came out with some squeeky teeth and just looked so funny! Jenny is sooo good on the lead, if you are looking for an easy walk, Jenny is your girl, she just walks right beside you, lead totaly slack. We had our funny roll in the grass, our tummy rubs, our Staffie snogs and lovely sits and paws Jenny today was very interested in a partly broken tree branch, and she decided it would be fun to do a jump in the air to, well, make sure it was totaly broken! Took me by surprise but she was very gentle and lady like in her tree distruction! Lovely Jenny, why have you been waiting so long? I was thinking that question for the whole time I was with her today, and struggled to get an answer She's amazing, a star, and today she was totaly non reactive to all passing dogs, even dogs reacting to her, just a slight look and a little pull in the dogs direction but no aggression or barking at all. Please, please, PLEASE go and see Jenny, please take her out for a walk as you will only see the real Jenny outside her kennel, how can you not fall for her, look at her face xxx

Lovely Jenny, still waiting, still wonderful As I have said before, please take her behaviour in kennels with a pinch of salt, take her out for a long walk and get to know the real Jenny, please don't give her kennel a wide berth ( she is on the end kennel and people tend to take a wide berth and walk on quick breaks my heart ) she is a blast in the garden! After our walk on Saturday, myself and jenc took her in the garden and was so funny in the toy box, trying to find all the squeaky's! Please give Jenny a chance.......

Ahh Eve didn't Jenny have fun in the toy box!! She loved every second of her time in the garden! Jenny is a real sweetie, she would have bee happy to spend all day playing in the garden if she could have I'm sure!
Jenny was a recommendation to take out on a day trip, as bless her she has been at CDH for some time now and she needs a day in the sun I spent some time with Jenny getting to know her, and her getting to know me (which I think is far more important!). After spending some time with Jenny I felt that I need to let her get to know me a little more before taking her on an adventure. It's always important as a walker to remember not to run before you can walk and not to get over confident when taking the dogs out. I would hate for Jenny to have a bad day out just because I got carried away. Everything I do as a walker is in the best interests of the dogs.
My plan is to spend the next few weeks spending as much time as I can with Jenny in order to build up her trust with me, and then when we are besties (as she is with so many other walkers!) we'll go on an adventure (start your recommendations!).
I loved my time with Jenny and we had a good cuddle and a chat. She really is a lovely and affectionate girlie.
See you next weekend for another catch up Jenny x

The fact that Jenny has been a resident of CDH for a few months now hasn't dampened her spirits - she is such a happy girl and so full of beans. She was an absolute joy on our recent walk together. Jenny loves to roll onto her back in the grass, so she wasted no time in giving herself a jolly good back massage at every opportunity - and with complete contentment plainly written all over her beaming face. Jenny can be a well mannered walking companion - she strolled happily by my side or sometimes in front of me, but the lead still remained slack when she did. Jenny did pull a bit when we were passing other dogs though - and it was whilst we were walking past Pablo that, unfortunately, the stitching on the leather handle of her lead snapped as she pulled sideways. As a consequence, Jenny was able to run free - with the chain part of the lead still attached to her collar, but without yours truly secured to the other end! Fortunately I was carrying a spare slip lead and I managed to replace the other one in a matter of a few seconds. Phew! But I could've been confronted with a challenging and serious situation: Jenny could've behaved aggressively towards Pablo, but she didn't; she could've made a dart for the road, but she didn't. Thankfully, by contrast, Jenny excitedly approached Pablo and then immediately changed tack and shifted to a mere six feet away from him and promptly sat down! Wow, good girl!!! Back at the Home, a member of staff suggested that I take Jenny into the garden for her to have a longer (and safer!) spell of running free - excellent idea! So once we were securely in the garden, her lead came off and she made a beeline for the toy box in the summer house. Boy, does this girl know how to have fun! After diving into the box paws first, she promptly immersed her snout into the sea of toys. With her tail wagging like the clappers, she was clearly very excited to be surrounded by all of her favourite things - and so many to choose from... Jenny is a ray of golden sunshine, and to while the time away with her was an absolute delight. She's also a real looker to boot - her stunning cinnamon-coloured eyes accentuating her beauty. If you're searching for a special four-legged friend, please consider making room in you heart and your home for this lovable, adorable girl (and lots of toys too!).

Ahhh, lovely write up on Jenny from the block. We love her, she's funny and beautiful- a real character!! Glad she had the sense to stay put when the lead broke - stress!!! Seems like you both had a ball and as always sounds like she was a very good girl. Love Jenny, she's tops xx
