What an absolute pleasure to walk. Bella just loves life. Playing with her toy, rolling in he grass, jumping around. Loves belly rubs and cwtches. She was fine to be around cyclists, joggers and gave passers by a cheeky wag of her tail. She even like a bit of a jog herself. Can't believe this fab little lady hasn't found her forever home yet.

Bella was out strutting her stuff with temporary resident Teddy this afternoon too! This girl has absolutely impeccable manners around other dogs and boy does she love to play Her and Teddy had a blast in the garden when we got back to the Home and love was definitely in the air! Bella is such a cracking girl, Im at a loss as to why she is still looking for a home. She is a beautiful girl both inside and out, she is young, full of fun and has wonderful doggy manners. She is a little belter! x

When Bella met Teddy "Eh, excuse me, I thought this was a dogs home....I wasnt aware they let sheep in" "well you look like a spring lamb, but play like a woofer, so I guess we can be friends" And what friends they are! This was their second play session together and they had so much fun! I really cant sing Bella's praises enough, she is such an amazing girl and she really deserves to be in a loving home with her own family. She is a young girl with so much going for her. If you are looking for an affectionate, playful pooch who adores other dogs, Bella is your girl!

Special walks are for extra special girls Myself and Bella enjoyed a walk into Penarth today, for a golden 3hrs 15mins, Bella enjoyed being a dog today, and doing things a pet would do Bella came out of kennels all happy-go-lucky, and was walking very nice on the lead from the get go. I had the plan of going to Dingle Park, we did that, and I thought ' Let's make Bella feel special ' so we had our walk and explore through the lovely Dingle Park, and kept going up Windsor Road towards Penarth town....... We got to Penarth Town, and it was quite busy, but Bella was so well behaved and took it all in her stride ' Ohhh this place looks nice! Bet we can get some really nice tennis balls here! ' As we walked up Windsor Road, Bella spotted all the lovely toys on display outside the pet shop, and she treated herself to a Kong Air Ball She waited very patiently to pay for her new toy That was fun! So where do we go now? This place is really nice, lets just have a sit down and watch the world go by for a few moments We then started walking towards Alexandra Park Bella was instantly all nose and loved all the sights and smells of this wonderful place! As I was expecting, lots of people were out walking their dogs, but Bella just showed a friendly interest with a smile and a waggy tail Bella found the bird cages that house small pet birds in the park, and was very happy to watch these for a fair amount of time! Also the fish pond, but we didn't see many fish today, and Bella thought the bird cage was a lot more interesting Right, lets head down to the beach! I fancy getting some sea air Bella's little face lit up when she seen the water, and the morning walkers out on the prom. She was made a fuss of by a number of people, and was so well behaved. Bella would love a family who could take her out for adventures, and own many tennis balls! I really enjoyed my morning out with Bella. It's walks like this that bring it home to me, these dogs are just pets, who have been let down in one way or another. Our walk today is a walk many familys do on a weekend with their dog, and Bella is no different to the family dogs that we passed today. Bella has amazing doggy manners, and was very gentle with all who said hello to her today. As dogs are allowed on the left hand side of the jetty on Penarth beach, I took Bella down for a little paddle, and she was so happy, chasing the waves as they went in and out. Lovely Bella, thank you for the lovely day today, you were just a dog today, no rescue label, just Bella Lets chase some waves! This is Fun! Thank you Bella xx

Yet another fab walk with the gorgeous Bella. Love spending time with this girl and every walk with her is such a pleasure, she enjoys every minute she's out exploring her surroundings, rolling in the grass and splashing in the puddles. Why oh why haven't you been snatched up.

I just can't understand why this beautiful girl is still waiting for a home! As she has been waiting at the home for quite a while now we decided it was time she had a home visit to give her a break from kennels and see what she would be like in a home environment. Bella joined me and Lola for a sleepover Friday night ans I'm pleased to say she was good as gold! We started with a nice long walk down the mill fields on Friday afternoon with Susie and Bas. Bella jumped in the boot of the car no trouble and traveled well on the short distance from the home. I know she has previously struggled travelling in cars when she has been strapped in as she likes to nibble things when she get board, so travelling in the boot of a car with a dog guard or in a crate is going to be the best way for Bella to travel. Once we arrived at the fields although very excited she walked calmly with Lola and Bas. Once we had been walking for a bit we let Lola and Bas go off and have a run and Bella walked nicely with us and didn't make the slightest fuss about being on the lead while the others were off exploring. She happily joined them for a bit of play in the river, before we went off to the pub. Bella was well behaved at the pub, but after a while got a little bit bored, so we kept the visit short. I'm sure with a little practice and something to occupy her Bella could learn to cope a little bit longer in these boring situations. When we got home Bella had a quick explore of the house on lead and then it was playtime Bella was quite excited to be in a new environment and took a little while to settle after playtime, but eventually got the idea and settled on the sofa to watch Charlotte's Web. Once the film was over Bella happily went out in the garden to do her evening business before going into her crate to sleep. I couldn't quite believe that she went in with absolutely no fuss and I did not hear a peep out of her until I came down in the morning to let them out for morning wees! I think it probably helped that she had another dog for company and that although the slept in separate crates they were still able to see each other. After a morning play session in the garden we went back to the mill fields and were joined by Cheryl and Megs for our morning walk. Again Bella walked well on the lead and got on with all the dogs she met on her walk. She absolutely loved the fields full of buttercups and enjoyed goofing about and rolling around in them. As Bella was so good on her walk we decided to take a visit to Sig n Viv's for a treat. Bella got to meet the lovely Shelby and decided that she would like a frozzy and a pizzle as her treat When we got back Bella and Lola both had their treats and then chilled in the house for the afternoon until it was time to take Bella back. I would very much like to have one of these of my own: Oh actually this would be even better It was a real treat to have Bella for the day and to get to know her needs a bit better. Bella is going to make someone a fabulous pet, but she is going to need a bit of help in the beginning learning how to be the perfect dog. She does have a tendency to jump up for attention and hasn't quite got over the puppy mouthing stage, but with consistent training I don't think it will take long to get her out of this habit. In the short time I had her she responded well to positive reinforcement, by being ignored for jumping up and rewarded for keeping four paws on the floor. She is an intelligent girl who wants to work and when she has something to do she is golden, but if she is left to get bored she is likely to make her own fun and for Bella that means chewing. It was really lovely to see how much fun Bella had playing with Lola, she is a high energy dog who can keep going for hours, so would really benefit from living with a dog with a similar energy level. So in summary, Bella is an amazing girl who will thrive in the right home, she just needs someone to show her how to be a good girl and give her lots of cuddles and praise when she gets it right. Good luck Bella the right home is out there for you and you are going to make someone very happy!

I am chuffed to bits to be able to move Bella's thread into the forever homes section of the forum. After 4 months of waiting she has now been given the chance to start her new life and someone has seen what a wonderful, sweet girl she is instead of walking past her kennel as so many did. It never ceases to amaze me how some of the most lovely, fantastic dogs we have wait so long for their new homes. Bella, it was a pleasure meeting you, have a wonderful new life

I spotted her name was off the walker's list earlier in the week and was so thrilled when the staff said she'd been rehomed. Bella was the first dog we walked at the Home back in March, and I'm so happy she's finally gone to her new home.
