Please welcome the delightful clown that is Sandy This darling lurcher boy has only just arrived at the Home, and hasn't seen our vets yet, but he was in good form when we brought him out for his pics today! Sandy is not a 'typical' pointy boy - he gave us a perfect 'sit' when we asked him nicely... But in no time at all, he realised that he was in a safe place, and there was fun to be had! Sandy told us solemnly.... I can jump higher than a ten foot fence. Fact.
This is due to my verrrrrrry long and powerful hind-legs and the fact that the average fence cannot jump. Miss Hayley - What do you call a dog magician? A labracadabrador! And this is me, doing my impression of Mr Tony trying to start his bike! Now then, gizza cuddle Miss Hayley!
Enough Sandy! Let's see your good side for a pic eh? We gotta find you a forever home sweetie pie!
If Sandy's owners don't come forward for him, he will be available for rehoming from 24th March. The staff will take applications on him immediately however, and if you would like more information on him please phone the Dogs' Home: 029 2071 1243 or visit Cardiff Dogs' Home, Westpoint Industrial Estate, Penarth Road, open 7 days a week, 10.30 - 4pm. For more information about the rehoming process at Cardiff Dogs Home, please click on the link below: Rehoming Process

Oh Sandy, just lost a bit of my heart to you! What a lovely Easter walk. You are so gentle and elegant, like a tiny little horse...! Sandy walked at a good pace without pulling and seemed to enjoy having his ears tickled. He will make someone a lovely companion. Wish it could be me. X

Lovely Sandy came for a nice long walk in the sunshine today also with myself and my son He is like a small horse with his legs but he is so gentle and calm when out and about, and does a fab sit! Did take a number of pictures but they came out quite poor We stopped on the bench to have some lunch, and Sandy was good as gold with us eating, and had some treats for being such a good boy! These lovely leggy Lurchers are such fab dogs, and Sandy was amazing with passing dogs, and even a very loud freight train that decided to honk it's horn as we were going under the bridge Hope you get your forever home soon lovely boy x

Had a cracking walk with the stunning Sandy yesterday. We went up the tump in Grangemoor Park in the glorious sunshine. Heard Sandy bark for the first time - we met an off lead whippet and Sandy bless him just wanted to cut loose and run with him. You could see his puppy playfulness coming out. Sorry I couldn't keep up and you had to stay with boring old me... My youngest Ollie didn't leave him alone and he was cuddly and patient at all times. A gorgeous boy who needs to be out and about with his own family xxx

We have been trying to take Sandy for a walk for a while now but every time we arrive at CDH someone else has beaten us to it. However, today we were at last successful and as an added bonus we were asked if we would also take out Sandy's best buddy Tess - two for the price of one, what a result!! The two dogs were great together, both were excited to be out for their first walk of the day but both were very good on their leads... Sandy was probably the least excitable of the two although both dogs were well-behaved, especially when we stopped for treats when they both waited patiently... Sandy is an absolutely gorgeous dog and we were so glad we finally got to walk him as I have a feeling he won't be at CDH for too much longer. Who could resist that face?
