Please welcome the rather fabulous Staffie/Lab/Counter-Tenor that is Coco
Trotting down to the river bank for his toilet break....
We were given a rather marvelous rendition of 'Shall we Gather at the River'....
And after an appreciative round of applause from us, and ALL the dogs in the Home joining in for the chorus, Coco stopped for an uncharacteristic quiet, pensive moment...
Back indoors...
Reason I have such a good voice, is cos I haffs an unobstructed voicebox, and my throat is in tip-top condition, and despite my tender age (see how white my teeth are) my voice has broken and I can sing like Pavarotti! See?
Neeeeeeeehsun Dorrrrrrrrrrmmmmmmaaaaaaaaa!!!!!
But my mixed parentage does present me with a bit of a problem sometimes, I don't know whether to lie down like a lab...
Or do my 'froggy staffie' thing...
What d'you think?
I think you are a delightful little boy with the very best of both breeds, and a cracking voice to boot Coco!
*blushes* Aw, thanks Aunty Sooz! That's very sweet of you!
It has to be said, Coco was a little 'vocal' when we brought him out for his pics! It was a bit like being followed around by a Gilbert & Sullivan operetta. He is a million-miles-an-hour, extremely affectionate, to the point where he could mistake a friendly handshake for an invitation for something more intimate, so as far as possible, we kept our our energy levels fairly 'flat' whilst we had Coco out...
Sooooooo excited to have a tickle!
And whilst he wasn't particularly interested in treats or toys, once he had sung his heart out to us, he was very grateful for a drink of water which he lapped from my hand soooooo gently!
Coco was brought in by the wardens as a stray. If his owners don't come forward for him, he will be available for rehoming from 23rd March. The staff will take applications on him immediately however, and if you would like more information on him please phone the Dogs' Home: 029 2071 1243 or visit Cardiff Dogs' Home, Westpoint Industrial Estate, Penarth Road, open 7 days a week, 10.30 - 4pm.
