Would love to take Blaze if he is still around, I have not walked him yet, will be doing that on Friday so sounds a bit odd asking for a dog I have not walked yet but I have a big hunch we will hit it off! If that's OK Xx

I am happy to take any dog. Even two if they can fit in the boot and if allowed? Depending on how many of us come (my hubby, boys AND my mum fancy it at the mo) we may have room in the car for someone else but won't know til the weekend sorry! Will pop down on Saturday to see what the plan is. Am counting down the days!!! X

Someone know where is exactly the meeting point? I found in google map 2 different paths to reach Pen Y Fan: the first starts in "Car park near Storey Arms" and the second in "Storey Arms Outdoor Education Centre", both along the A470.

I believe it's the carpark on the right before the storey arms but I think there is more information on a link in the first post of this thread - hope that helps

Wowsers - only the brave Well done to everyone who turned out to support Friends of the Animals RCT on Sunday! The weather wasn't exactly on our side, it was bitterly cold and the wind was like a mini tornado on the ridge, but our Purple Pilgrims dug deep and our dogs were an absolute credit to us! Here are some pics from the day... Stunning views! The peak looked sooooo inviting from 'Ground Zero'..... We had a fab turnout! Many thanks to Pilgrims Becky, Jen, Imogen and family, Gina, Jen C and Terence, Stefano and his buddy, Eve, & Susie.... and ALL the dogs who joined in the fun! Archie, Teddy, Lola, Junior, Red, Stewie, Bonnie, Bella, Chilli, Pebbles and Bas... Getting organised for the big push! Views from half way up Blue skies - here we come! hmmm, starting to look a bit chilly up there! Bonnie, enjoying the views... That wind! Miggy, Eve and William with Red and Chilli Stewie, looking verrrrrry composed! Eve with Chilli High fives to our our youngest and oldest Pilgrims! William aged 10 and John, who is only 16 years off his hundredth birthday We made it! Not everyone reached the top, but given the weather conditions, we are sooooo grateful that everyone put the best interests of their companions, both two legged and four legged, first and foremost If anyone didn't manage to see Eileen to give their £5 donation and/or receive their certificate, please message me or post up here. We will collect any donations due and pass them on to Friends of the Animals RCT, and arrange for certificates to be posted to us for collection from CDH. Well done Pilgrims! You Rock

It was a struggle but the dogs all loved it and that's the main thing When I put Teddy back in kennels, he hopped straight into his bed and didn't come out the other side when I went around the front, obviously snoozing already! Archie nabbed the comfiest seat in the house when we got home and didn't move an inch all night! Its amazing to get our dogs out for the day, they always behave impeccably and really do us proud. They were all fantastic ambassadors for the Home. We should try and do more group walks like this on a more regular basis, maybe a bit nearer to home. I saw on FOARCT Facebook page that they think they will have raised close to £800 by the time all the sponsorship and donations come in! Bloody brilliant!!!

What a brilliant day! We had a great day & it was a privilege to be part of the event.
Looking back at the pictures actually makes me realise how far it was! A great effort by all,two & four legged.
The dogs were amazing on the day, it was lovely to see them all enjoying themselves & getting some proper exercise...I know we get them out daily but taking them on an adventure like pen y fan really made the dogs happy!
Pat on the backs for all who took part - very well done! X

It was sooooo windy! When the wind kicked in on the ridge I almost went back, but I thought I have come this far, Chilli wanted to keep going, so we did get to the top! Seeing you guys pass me just before I got to the top was also a kick up the backside to keep going Had a fab day! Thank you for letting Chilli be my little mascot, he was fab the whole way, and was falling asleep in the car on the way home Got a very bad picture of myself and Chilli at the top, it was just so windy, I am holding on to Chilli for dear life so we don't blow away! x
