Please welcome Bowser Bowser has only recently arrived at the Home, but he wasted no time at all in wowwing our volunteer walkers! Our grateful thanks to Eve, Rachel, Nat and Alex have provided the pics for Bowser's rehoming thread and the superlatives! Bowsers first walk with the Pilgrims! Courtesy Eve, and it didn't take long to find out what a water baby Bowser is! Fab pic, taken by one of our young Pilgrims, Kacey! Rachel was the next to fall for this boy..... Took this very handsome boy out for walkies today ...... He was very affectionate, stopped in the shade for smoothes and love, and didn't bat an eyelid around other dogs from the pound or local pets. Don't get me wrong, it was like walking a cannon ball from Mario Kart..... he's a beautiful boy who will settle in well with someone with a big heart, sofa and happy to have short walks regularly. Good luck handsome!
P.S we think you should name him Bowser
We agree Rachel! Bowser it is! And on the top of Grangemoor Park, Bowser also won the hearts of Pilgrims Nat and Alex C'mon Alex, gizza kiss! You know you want to! Whoa there Bowser! We've only just met! Now, nice smile for the camera please As Bowser has already been at the home for more than 7 days, he is available for rehoming immediately. If you would like more information on Bowser please phone the Dogs' Home: 029 2071 1243 or visit Cardiff Dogs' Home, Westpoint Industrial Estate, Penarth Road, open 7 days a week, 10.30 - 4pm (closed for lunch 12 - 1.00pm weekdays) For more information about the rehoming process at Cardiff Dogs Home, please click on the link below: Rehoming Process

Bowser wowser!!!! What a fab chunky monkey this boy is. When he comes out he's like a bottle of pop but soon settles down,he walks beautifully with that lovely staffie waddle, totally unphased by other dogs and just generally has a love for life. "Tongue out Tuesday is it Bowser" I am absolutely smitten with this boy and I defy anybody not to fall in love with him. Totally calm and loves a good fuss and gives out lovely staffie snogs what more could you want. Bowser you are a star and I hope someone snaps you up soon because you are an absolute star. See you soon fat head xx

We had the pleasure of Bowser's company today on a lovely sunny day. He was excited to be out and about, walked well on the lead and was no trouble at all around other dogs, including several offlead in Grangemoor Park. (Always makes me laugh when the owners of offlead dogs ask us what our dog is like, is he friendly around other dogs etc - I don't know, he is not mine so if you are in any doubt put your dog on the lead). We stopped for some water and a treat or two - Bowser was very thirsty! He also likes to drink his water lying down, much to our amusement, in fact he likes to lie down a lot, completely stretched out... He showed us his smiley face throughout the walk, what a great big happy face he has too... Great dog - make sure you take plenty of water with you when you walk this guy as he is a thirsty one!

I took Bowser out with my family today. He is a big boy but very gentle. We stopped a few times to give him some water as it was a lovely warm day, and he took it gently. He also sat nicely for some fuss and an ear scratch. He passed other dogs without interest and was very well behaved! A lovely staffie boy!

Took this chunky monkey out this morning, I love the way he walks, he almost waddles it's so cute! He's lovely on the lead no pulling and isn't bothered by other dogs or noisy traffic going past. He does love a good drink so walkers be sure to take lots of water with you! Gorgeous boy!

So out this morning with the ball of fun that is Bowser. This guy has to be one of the most 'interested' dogs we have walked, he is undoubtably some long lost explorer reincarnated as a staffie ! He fizzes along, ' don't know where we are going .... But let's get there quick! ' Then if he sees a hole in the hedge its ' a hole ...a hole, what's in the hole.. I'm going in the hole !' If it's a little path into the bushes ... ' a track, a track, ....follow the track..!' He is so funny, so full of life, and energy, but also loves people. Every stop.... There were a few, it was a warm day and he needed lots of water, he wanted a drink, a little lie down and as many cuddles as he could get!
This guy is addictive, he is soft as a brush and a pleasure to walk, no problem with other dogs, we even sat outside Costa all having a well earned drink, and he was respectful, well behaved and again interested in everything he could see. I'm a big staffie fan, but even for a favourite breed, this guy is a little star performer. Good luck Bowser, you deserve a wonderful home.

Well, I was bowled over by Bowser on our walk yesterday...and baffled as to why this fella hasn't left the building yet - he's an absolute joy to be with! When Bowser finds his forever family/special someone, they're going to be so incredibly lucky - he loves people and is great with other dogs, and a real looker to boot! I hope a new, loving home will come soon for this wonderful woofer, and a second chance of a happy and secure life he truly deserves.

Great pic alexkid, and yes, I'm still scratching my head - even harder, wondering why Bowser wowser hasn't been snapped up yet! He's lively, engaging, responsive and loving. And with zero issues around other dogs, what's there not to adore about this wonderful woofer?? Staffies are known for their loyalty and gentle nature and love a secure family unit. They are also known as the "nanny dog" for their good nature with younger members of their family. I truly hope that Bowser finds a loving forever family soon; a family to give him the home he so deserves.

As the weather was due to pick up this morning, my Mum decided she would come with me on my walk this morning. Dale suggested Bowser, who I'd not yet had the pleasure of meeting. After bounding out of CHD reception we were immediately greeted with the hugest staffie smile you could ever ask for and an eagerness to get out there and explore. Having probably walked this route 100 times Bowser was still excited to be out as if this was the 1st time he'd been up Grangemoor, sniffing and exploring at every oportunity. He is also a very thirsty boy and like many comments above be armed with plenty of water and prepare for a few sit down breaks on route so he can cool his belly down. He's also partial to the odd treat or 2. Both me and my Mum fell in love with this adorable chap and could have stayed with him all day. He is an all round gent and likes nothing more than belly rubs and giving love. He will make somebody's sofa complete one day and they will be so lucky to have this all round good guy in their lives as they will never be short of staffie love again. Hoping that you find your forever home soon but in the meantime am sure me and many other walkers will be queuing to spend time with you. X

It's a little while since I walked Bowser last, and today I took the chance to see if my early impressions of this guy still hold true... So we signed him out and headed off for a good two hour walk. I raved about this guy last time, and was bowled over by his enthusiasm and general zest for life. Well safe to say nothing has changed, spend a little time with this guy and he will make your day. He came out of the kennels with his huge Staffie grin firmly in place and was keen to start today's exploration. First walk of the day so unsurprisingly he did pull at first, and it has to be said ..he is a strong boy, the harness helps a lot, and obviously is much kinder on him too. But he quickly calms down and settles into a brisk pace. Bowser loves life, he really is interested in everything, he wants to see behind the bushes, investigate long grass, he bounds with energy and 'Joie de vivre', and that is all infectious, so as a walker you become involved with him, a partner to his exploration .. It's a wonderful thing to be a part of this guys day. It was cooler today, but Bowser still likes a regular drink, so take plenty of water fellow walkers, take a break with the little Dynamo and he will repay you with super shows of affection and appreciation, nothing quite like a good staffie 'snog'! Passing other dogs He is interested but friendly and polite, no problems with this little star.
So why oh why is Bowser still with us here at the home??? Yes if you want a quiet little lap dog then he is probably not for you, but if you want someone to share an active life, and enhance it in every way then please look no further Bowser really is the answer.
