Kennel 4 is housing this sweet lurcher, Thomas. Thomas has had all his vaccinations so we were able to take a gentle stroll down to the river. Initially Thomas was very unsure of where he was heading, sticking very close to my legs. He was happy to just stand and take in the scenery whilst we took his photos. Thomas doesn't know any basic commands but he is very gentle when taking treats. The staff at the home will take applications now for Thomas now. If you would like more information on him please phone the Dogs' Home: 029 2071 1243 or visit Cardiff Dogs' Home, Westpoint Industrial Estate, Penarth Road, open 7 days a week, 10.30 - 4pm. Mon/Thurs till 6pm For more information about the rehoming process at Cardiff Dogs Home, please click on the link below: friendsofcardiffdogs.proboards.com/thread/5880/guide-adoption-procedures

Sadly, Thomas has been returned to the Home Despite having a successful cat test, it seems Thomas isn't such a fan of kitties afterall so he will need a home without small furries or cats. Thomas is a lovely, gentle boy so if you have a cat free home, please consider him

We took the lovely Thomas out for a long walk this morning. He was so gentle on the lead, no pulling at all and didn't bother sniffing either, just plodded along at our pace. The only time we heard him bark was when Isla and Patch walked past us. But Isla looked like a little furry creature so not surprising really! We took him over to Penarth Marina where he had a nice look at the boats. He has lovely fur, kind of stripey like a tiger. He is such a gentle dog, took his treats nicely and kept looking back at us to make sure we were still with him. I love walking lurchers, they are no trouble at all - unless you happen to see a squirrel. I did spot a rabbit cross our path when we walked back down the Ely River Trail. Luckily Thomas didn't spot it!! Hope you find a new home soon Thomas, you will make someone a lovely four-legged pal.

Saw the beautiful graceful Thomas out for a walk this morning as I drove to a meeting in Penarth. Oh my - he looks even more gorgeous in real life than in his photos!! It was all I could do the keep driving on - he'll make someone a wonderful fun companion - in truth if I thought I could manage three, that someone would be me!! Good luck Thomas - it's high time you were on your forever sofa!!

We took Thomas for a 2 hour walk today, the second time that we have walked him. He is such a good boy, so gentle on the lead and so affectionate. He kept nuzzling into my leg and also licking my hand as he was walking alongside me.
He is getting a bit of a fan club, several people stopped us to ask all about him and to say how lovely he was.
We met a friend's Mum with her dog and stopped to chat for a while. Thomas was a perfect gent around her dog and even lay down on the floor to wait for us to finish our chat.
A word of warning, watch out for cats!! I spotted one en route to Penarth Marina before he spotted it and shortened the lead and got ready for Thomas to pull but he almost pulled me over. He seems to develop a strength from somewhere deep down when he sees a furry creature!

Why on earth is this leggy lovely still waiting for a home?? I have walked Thomas a few times and he never fails to make me smile. He is an easy dog to walk, generally walking alongside you on a slack lead (unless he spots another dog and then he gets very playful!) and isnt bothered by anything. He is very affectionate and enjoys a nice fuss. I saw him in the car park yesterday as I arrived and he was waiting to go back in the kennels after a walk, he recognised me and made such a lovely fuss of me He really is a very special boy with so much to give. Okay, he doesnt want to live with cats, but hey, neither do I (they are the pets people have until they can get a dog eh Baglady !) If you have a cat free home, a little space on your sofa (have you seen how small lurchers are once curled up??) and a lot of love to give and get back, I urge you to come and meet Thomas! He is a cracking boy x

Thomas is sweet, polite, walks beautifully on the lead, and is an all round good guy. We took him to Llandaff fields this week and he was an absolute joy. He loves Elsie and is so polite around her his manners are impeccable. He waited for Elsie to go and have a drink in the river before he went in he waits for her to have a treat first he's just a perfect gent. He can be as lively or as lazy as you want to be and loves a good fuss....he is perfect, but as been mentioned no cats please. Thomas you'll get a fab home good boy I'm sure of it and Elsie thinks your sweet too you charmer. Love ya lanky. This charming man "So this is how it works if I sit nicely I get a treat....got it"

I walked Thomas today. He's definitely a big favourite of mine. Would love to see those long limbs run as they are meant to do in a big enclosed space. He's just bursting with pent up energy. He has a great personality and a loving nature. Perhaps not great to be with small furry animals or even small dogs. See how his ears fly up if he spots a squirrel or a rabbit!!

I know, it is a shame. I was so convinced that Thomas would be coming home with us. If Lucy was slightly older and calmer I would certainly have taken Thomas on, I just hope he doesn't have to wait too long for his forever family. Hunter seems like a really lovely dog and Lucy certainly seems to like him. I can't wait to bring him home and spoil him rotten.

It's been all about the pointies this week! No surprises that Popeye, Olive, Blutto and Sweepea had loads of visitors, but we were especially thrilled that one lovely family in particular walked straight past the puppies and into Thomas's life! Thomas - you are such a lucky boy to have found your perfect forever family! Have a lovely life sweetheart
