Please welcome the oh so gorgeous Dixie Dixie was very timid coming out of her kennel for her photoshoot today, but after some quiet time on the river bank with us, she soon came out of her shell Back scratches please Becs! She was very impressed with our fancy fence and new flowerbeds!! Back inside to the quiet of the vets room and Dixie confirmed what we all already knew - Staffies give THE best cuddles ever Dixie is only a young girl, she is in great condition and as pretty as a picture! We reckon she will be a firm favourite with our vols and we look forward to her getting on the walkers list once her vaccinations kick in. Dixie will be available for rehoming from 21st June, but the staff at the home will take applications on her now. If you have any questions on Dixie or would like more information on her please phone the Dogs' Home: 029 2071 1243 or visit Cardiff Dogs' Home, Westpoint Industrial Estate, Penarth Road, open 7 days a week, 10.30 - 4pm. For more information about the rehoming process at Cardiff Dogs Home, please click here

Spotted Dixie's entrance onto the site yesterday and was delighted to see she was available to walk today. So signed her out and off we went. First thing to say is that the photographs really don't do her justice, she is a lovely, sweet looking girl, with a pretty face and is in great condition. She has a tiny little heart shaped white flash on her lower back, like a fashionable tattoo it captures her personality perfectly, this girl is a real sweetheart. No pulling, she likes to walk just ahead of you. She is obviously getting over the timidity mention on her introduction, but she really does enjoy a good old fuss and cuddle, anytime anywhere, yep she is a martini girl ( sorry if you don't get that, it's an age thing!) She loves a snuffle along the ground but was always looking up and around and is really engaged and interested in everything that's going on. She is quiet, greeting other dogs, including a pack of 7 various mixed breeds all off lead being walked (?) through the park, with head up and a wagging tail. My daughter was besotted by Dixie, and asked the question that I'm sure we all do, ' why is this perfect dog here in the home?' It's impossible to answer of course except to say that it gives some other lucky family the chance to share their home with a bundle of permanent joy. My recommendation if you are looking, is don't miss this opportunity , I'm sure she won't be here long
