Please give a warm Friendly welcome to young Pablo This handsome young pup was brought into CDH by the wardens, and he's finding it all a little bit tough at the moment Pablo was incredibly excited to come out of kennels for a bit a fresh air, but we rather felt he was expecting to see his family waiting for him, and he was pretty inconsolable. We couldn't tempt him with anything, treats, toys, cuddles.... he wasn't really interested, didn't want to give us eye contact, just kept sniffing the air, and looking around, hoping to see someone he recognised.... According to his microchip, Pablo is only around a year old, and he is a fine figure of a young dog, fit as a fiddle! If Pablo's owners don't come forward for him, he will be available for rehoming from 21st July. Pablo, I wish wish wish I could explain to you why you have ended up here, with us, when you should be cwtched up with whoever promised to love you for ever. For more information on Pablo, please phone the Dogs' Home: 029 2071 1243 or visit Cardiff Dogs' Home, Westpoint Industrial Estate, Penarth Road, open 7 days a week, 10.30 - 4pm. Well Pablo and I shared a very pleasant walk yesterday, he is a very good looking boy, has a striking coat, and as his introduction says really seems as fit as the proverbial ' butchers dog'. He bounced out of the kennels and was keen to get started. He is of a small/ medium build so his initial pull down the lane was no problem, and once he had settled he steadied to a nice pace ( he does like to keep the lead taught though ) He was a little timid still at the outset and didn't encourage too much petting, he was much more interested in seeing what was 'out and about' However as the walk progressed he visibly relaxed and the 'guy inside' began to peep out. We stopped at a bench for a quick drink of water and after a few laps at it Pablo was up on the seat for a proper fuss and cuddle... This fella has a lot of love and affection to give, he just needs the right family to come along and love him right back. We walked back more slowly and fell into a stream of dogs heading back to CDH. He was interested in them but no more than a look and acknowledgement, no barking, pulling or jumping up, excellent behaviour. He is not phased by traffic or cyclists and really is a little cracker. We got back and Pablo showed no sign of tiredness, so lots of energy too. All in all a well mannered, chap who once past his initial reserve is loving and friendly ... What's not to like?

Myself and my partner had a lovely walk with Pablo this weekend, and he was an absolute delight! True to Staffies everywhere, he's the epitome of happiness and fun. :-) He was delighted to be out of the kennels, and was very keen to get started with the walk. He was full of energy, but so gentle and well behaved, particularly for a youngster.
He made us laugh, that despite wanting to run around everywhere, every time we passed a bench he wanted to sit down for a fuss!
He definitely needs a reasonably active home, with someone who can give him the time he deserves to run around and play. He really is a little gem, and as with so many dogs in the Home we were completely dumbfounded that someone could give this guy up. I hope he finds his forever home soon, he deserves it!

I agree with all the comments. I walked Pablo today for an hour and although he was very eager to get out and about, as the walk progressed he settled down into a nice pace. Stopping at benches he just wanted cwtches and cuddles. We met a few dogs en route and he was not fazed by any of them including one that barked very loudly at him. Although he was very inquisitive he didn't make any attempt to 'go' for any other dogs we met. Not frightened by the traffic and other pedestrians. For one so young he is remarkably well behaved and will make someone a super forever friend.

Pablo came bounding out of the kennels today for his walk, he was absolutely bursting with energy and when we started off down the lane he was walking on his back legs only, he was so excited. When we got to the first set of benches in Grangemoor Park we stopped so he could have a drink and some treats and he jumped right up onto the table and rolled over for some belly rubs! He took his treats nice and gently and we went on our way. As he was so energetic we decided to take him down Dunleavy Drive and over the Pont y Werin bridge where we had another pit stop. His tail didn't stop wagging the whole way and when we sat down on a bench he gave my feet a good wash with his tongue and also licked my hands. Although he was very energetic when we started the walk, by the time we had been walking for about 40 minutes he had calmed down a bit. We walked him for an hour and a half and I think he could have gone on for much longer but we were exhausted so we took him back to CDH via Penarth Road. He was very good crossing at the traffic lights and excellent when confronted by other dogs, including several which were offlead in Grangemoor Park. He also does a nice "Sit" for his treats. I think he would be a great pet for a young family who could take him on long walks. But be warned, he will lick you to death with that tongue!!

My, my, my, Pablo what a handsome, fun loving youngster you are. Walked this fab boy today and how excited he was to be out of his kennel. We bounded down the lane from CDH like tigger but soon calmed down to a reasonable pace after about 15mins. Pablo is everthing you could want from a dog, thoroughly enjoys being out, loves effection and gives it back in bucketloads. We passed a few dogs on our travels and Pablo didn't bat an eyelid even when they barked at us. He wasn't fazed by cyclists or joggers just interested in his walk and investigating his surroundings. What an absolute champ.

How suprised I was to see Pablo's name still on the walkers list this morning. I would have though that this superstar of a lad would have been snapped up by now. It did however mean that I got to spend some extra time with this beauty. As expected Pablo flew out of the home and was keen to be getting on his way. From my last walk I was well prepared, plenty of water, a little cheeky treat and my comfy walking shoes. Pablo seemed super excited this morning and we had quickly made it down CDH lane and on our way. As he was so full of energy we went for a longer walk this morning and were out for about an hour and a half. Pablo loves to sniff and explore whilst still maintaining a pace on him. This young pup has so much energy stored up from not being able to wander free he could walk forever. He does come across as over excitable but it is because of his environment, he just loves being out and about and being around people and giving cwtches and staffie kisses. On our way back I had a cal from Charlotte to say there was a potential family at the home to meet Pablo so we picked up the pace and made our way back. Have got everything crossed for you Pablo that this time you will find your forever sofa. Pablo you are one handsome boy
