If you like your dogs big and hairy, take a look at Lenny! This boy is a serious heart stealer, he is just stunningly gorgeous. Lenny has lushious long hair that will most definately require a lot of maintenance and regular grooming. Not only is Lenny lovely to look at though, he's a complete package of lovliness. He is polite, gentle, clever and sweet. Gentle with taking treats... Sit and paw... And down... He is a really big boy, the photos are deceptive possibly! Would you like my paw again?? Lenny will be available for rehoming from 14th September, but the staff at the home will take applications on him now. If you have any questions on Lenny or would like more information on him please phone the Dogs' Home: 029 2071 1243 or visit Cardiff Dogs' Home, Westpoint Industrial Estate, Penarth Road, open 7 days a week, 10.30 - 4pm. For more information about the rehoming process at Cardiff Dogs Home, please click here

Kept away from CDH for a couple of weeks by work commitments, we were keen to see who had arrived since we were in last. And what a bittersweet pleasure to find this boy has arrived Sweet because we get to take him out for a stroll, but oh so bitter to find him here at all I have said before I love big dogs ...... So here is Lenny, and he certainly meets the brief. This guy is huge, although he could be tiny inside that coat ... Which feels about a metre thick , he is a fantastic looking beast. And as we found has a wonderful temperament. Coming out of the kennels he takes your breath away, but after a quick chat off we go, and the first surprise is ..... He is a lovely steady walk, hardly any pulling, although he was keen to investigate everything, so weaves a little from side to side as we progress down the lane. This steadies as we walk further and he slips into a pleasant pace. Lenny is not a dog to give his affection straight away, he is friendly, and gentle but not effusive, he obviously needs to get to know you before he really opens out, which is no bad thing! Entering Grangemoor park we find a fun run in progress, Lenny took it all in his ( large ) stride, although being overtaken by a 7ft dinosaur ( yes, honestly !! ) was a bit disconcerting, I think he would of jogged along .. Given a chance which I didn't want to take! We walked across to the barrage, without any problems, he passed, traffic, pedestrians and cyclists without any fuss, other dogs were no bother, apart from a couple who pulled toward him aggressively, and he did pull toward them, but was easily controlled, though I think the bit of weight I carry helped. All in all he is fab, as a guy at the barrage called across to us ' he is magnificent, looks like a wolf ' I'm sure he won't be here long, don't miss out if you are looking for a bigger guy, be prepared for some serious grooming, and he will repay you, every day.

Lenny looks gorgeous. Love the look of him a possible friend for our 6year old rescue dog Kim. Going away on holiday in next few weeks, but keeping fingers crossed he's still available on our return, but doubt it 🙁 as plenty of people will be looking to give this lovely boy a new home 😘
