This lovely lady is Honey Honey is a 2 year old border collie who has been signed over to CDH. She was living in a home where she really wasn't getting what she needed in her life and her owners felt it would be in her best interests for her to find a new home. Collies are high energy dogs who need to have a 'job' to do to keep their busy minds occupied. If they aren't working on a farm then they need other ways to direct their energy, such as agility or games etc. Honey at the moment is very quiet and quite overwhelmed by her change in circumstances, so we haven't really seen her true personality emerge yet. Can't wait to see her more relaxed and playful. Honey enjoyed a potter round the garden with us And said gentle hellos to Becky Honey is available for rehoming now If you have any questions on Honey or would like more information on her please phone the Dogs' Home: 029 2071 1243 or visit Cardiff Dogs' Home, Westpoint Industrial Estate, Penarth Road, open 7 days a week, 10.30 - 4pm. We walked Honey today for the first time. When she came out of the kennels she was very nervous and as we walked down the lane she kept looking back at me all the time. When my husband tried to stroke her she backed away a bit but she was fine with me. She pulled on the lead initially but by the time we reached Penarth Road she had settled into a nice walk. However her tail was down and she still seemed a little bit nervous. When we stopped in Grangemoor Park for a drink and some treats she did a great sit and also gave a paw and took her treats ever so gently. She seemed to be relaxing with us and licked her lips after her treats... We carried on further into Grangemoor Park and by now she seemed really happy to be with us and her tail was up and wagging away. We passed several dogs including two that barked like mad at Honey but she didn't bark back at them, she just came over to me and put her paws up to my chest for reassurance. Honey is a really lovely dog who I think would make a great pet. She is obviously quite lively but as she was on the lead we couldn't really let her burn off any of that energy. When we got back to the Dogs Home there was a guy there who was interested in applying for Honey, he took her down the lane for a little walk when we left and although she seemed confused that we were leaving her and he was taking over she walked happily with him. Good luck in finding your new home Honey, I am sure it won't be long!

I took lovely Honey out yesterday and she was a joy. Initially, she was a little reserved but quite eager to set about exploring. After about 10 minutes she settled nicely into her walk and was a dream dog. Lovely and calm to walk and perfect manners. She went into the garden later for a nice run around. I think Honey will make a perfect companion for someone with an active lifestyle, who enjoys being out and about no matter what the weather. Good luck Honey!

I forgot to mention in my earlier post that we also had a dog bark at us, and there was no reaction what so ever from Honey. What an excellent girl she is, someone is going to be really lucky to get this dog.

Honey is an absolute sweetheart, and within days of arriving at the Home she had 3 applications - but for astonishingly all 3 changed their minds, so poor Honey has missed out on genuine potential rehoming offers, and is still waiting to meet her forever family.
