We took the gorgeous Walt out on Sunday afternoon for a walk.
He was beyond lovely. He walked beautifully on the lead and loved any attention that we gave him. I have my 3 young children when I walk and Walt was amazing and incredibly loving to them.
He seems playful and great personality. We give him a 10/10 (children were begging me to adopt him and I must admit I wavered a little as he truly is a very special boy).

We had the chance to walk out with Walt today, and what a joy it was. He on the small side in the Staffie spectrum, clearly a youngster and full of life. He is defiantly on the thin side, but 3 square meals a day will soon rectify this, but non of that affects his character which is full sized happy and very friendly We signed him out and trotted down the lane, Walt was a bit 'head down and off' at this point, unsurprisingly as it was his first walk of the day. He has a very delicate walking style, up on his toes and trots like a thoroughbred horse, very elegant ! Ears back at first as he strode out, he quickly settled and the ears come up as he really started to take an interest in everything around him. He is a character, and made us laugh with his inquisitiveness and general joy of life, he is a guy who can improve your spirits just by being in his company. He will eat anything that resembles food though so watch out for empty wrappers etc as you walk, because he will find them! As we progressed we saw him relax and show his more loving nature, he loves a cuddle and does the check back when walking to ensure all is well All in all another fab dog, who just needs a loving family to bring out the best in him. I'm sure he will be snapped up soon, after all Walt Dis'ney want to be here too long ............. I'll get my coat !

We took little Walt out for a walk yesterday afternoon. We were warned by staff that he may try to bite his chain but he didn't do it once, he walked great on his chain. Straightaway we realised that although he was small he liked to keep a very fast pace, not bothering to sniff anything at all - he was a dog on a mission! We stopped for a short rest on a bench and he enjoyed a scratch under the chin... He soon sniffed out the treats in our bag... Very tasty.. Any more on offer?? It was obvious this little guy needed a very long walk so we carried on over the bridge to Penarth and back to the Home via Penarth Road. Walt didn't seem too keen on the traffic on Penarth Road (don't blame him, neither am I!) and where the pavement became narrow and the cars were closer to us he kept stopping and putting his paw up on us for a cwtch and some reassurance. Once we got to the Porsche garage he was fine so I am sure he was nervous of the traffic. He was quite happy to go back into his kennel when we got back to CDH. He is just a happy little chappy. But he has a lot of energy and after trotting along with him for over an hour we both felt like we had had a workout at the gym!! So if you want to stay fit and burn off the calories without paying for gym membership then little Walt is the one for you!!

I absolutely love taking little Walt out. He is such a happy soul, he will never fail to put a smile on your face. He is such a happy go lucky chap. He gets really exited for his walk, he's always zig zagging and criss crossing you st the beginning but he eventually settles. I mean who wouldn't be exited for a walk. He always looks back at you making sure you're there, always wants a cwtch and is not bothered by other dogs. He is a very loving and affectionate dog, there is nothing not to like about Walt. He's an absolute gem and deserves a forever home ππΎπ

Mum and I took the wonderful Walt out this morning. This delightful little boy was so good on the lead and was very happy to be out and about. We got off to a funny start... Mum dropped her glove and Walt tried to eat it! We tried asking him, telling him and pulling it out of his mouth but he was determined to eat it! We finally persuaded him to swap it for some treats, which he took with excellent manners, and then Walt and mum became best friends. We went up and around Grangemoor park, I would have loved to have seen this energetic little guy running around off lead. He really is a little star, I hope he finds his forever home before Christmas. Xx

Walt is such a gorgeous little boy and I'm honestly surprised he's been waiting as long as he has for a new home. He's the tiniest little staffie and so full of love and energy. I wasn't expecting him to be as teeny as he is, and it almost looks like he's a bit jack russell as well as staffie, but whatever breed he is, he's very adorable! I know he's walked on a chain as he had a tendency to bite at his lead, though he was very well behaved in that regard. He was very eager to jump up and say hello, but calmed down considerably after a few minutes and after being able to stretch his legs a little. Every so often Walt seemed to need a little reassurance from us and would stop in front of us then just nuzzle his head into our legs. He's very affectionate and I can only imagine how much he'd love to be able to cwtch up on a sofa of his very own with his forever family. He did pull a little on the lead but calmed down after a while and was very well behaved around other dogs. Some he didn't seem so sure of and just wanted to keep walking but others he obviously would have been very happy to go up and say hello to. Even when we passed a few more vocal dogs, he showed off some impeccable manners. At the benches he wasn't so sure about jumping up for a cuddle but instead rested his front paws on my lap and snuggled in, obviously enjoying having a fuss. He wasn't so sure about sit or paw when it came to treats, and those treats did seem to just disappear when they were in front of him for too long, but he still took them gently. This little man would be perfect for a fairly active family who also enjoy spending some downtime on the sofa, and has so much love to offer. Hopefully he won't be waiting too long after christmas waiting for his comfy sofa.

Couldn't agree more with this. I love little Walt and can't believe he's still at the home. He's adorable and so loving. A right cutie. I always look to see if Walt has been out and if he hasn't he's first on my list to get walked. I love this little chap π€

The last time we walked Walt he was raring to go and nearly walked our legs off.
We took him out again yesterday and were informed by staff that he is becoming reluctant to walk and decides when he has had enough and refuses to budge. And lo and behold that is exactly what happened. Little Walt seemed reluctant to leave the comfort of the kennels. We struggled to get him to the main road but managed to get him there by shaking our little pot of treats (Walt loves his treats). By the time we got to Grangemoor Park he had improved and was walking nicely. We stopped on the benches and Walt cwtched right into our legs and seemed perfectly happy just to sit in the fresh air and have cwtches and watch two fishermen in the river. So we stayed there for a while just letting Walt relax. When we tried to get going again on our walk Walt just wanted to go home to his kennel and refused to budge. Strangely enough, as soon as he knew we were heading back to the Dogs Home he was his normal self and was a dog on a mission, even running back up the lane! He is obviously happy there and I am not surprised as he is being well looked after. I think something must have triggered this change in his walking behaviour, maybe he has been scared by traffic or something else?
What he really needs is a home of his own and a nice sofa to curl up on - he is only a small dog and has loads of love to give.
Hope you find your new home soon Walt.

Walt, what a wonderful, friendly little dog you are! Off we went with his toy in his mouth but we didn't get very far down the lane before he decided he wanted to return home to his food bowl! Becky was brilliant and she popped us in her car and dropped up far enough away for Walt to get a bit of a walk. He was very focused on just getting back home and Becky was saying that he has become very food focused and this makes him not want to leave home. Aw, bless him. He needs a loving home with regular walks to make him realise that he won't ever have to go hungry again. Lovely dog, I hope your not waiting too much longer. ππ

What a joy Walt is, came out of kennels with pink fluffy toy in his mouth ready to attempt a stroll away from the comfort of his kennel . Plenty of encouragement, soft words and a few treat got him to the end of the lane and onto Penarth Rd. He's happy to surrender his toy for a treat and I kept throwing the toy ahead of him which encouraged Walt to continue his walk over the bridge and we made it to the bus stop before he wanted to return to CDH. Once back at the home we headed into the garden with a potential re-homer. Walt loved the garden his tail came up and he was very happy as he explored the whole of the garden venturing through the tunnel and generally had a ball. I'd happily take him for another stroll when I'm next at CDH if he hasn't found his forever home. Bx

Hi everyone Walt here. Helen,Pete and Elsie invited me out for a walk Saturday afternoon and I'll be honest I didn't fancy it to start with I tried turning back up the lane but Elsie told me to man up and carry on so I thought I'd try it. "That's it Walt best foot forward little un" I carried mr squeaky blue duck for extra support now Mrs Babs got me to the bus stop hi five Mrs Babs, but Elsie said come on little un (I know cheeky mare) but before I knew it I was on my way to this mystical place called teletubbie hill.. "Excuse me have you seen my camouflage lead" Helen gave me lovely treats to keep my spirits up and Elsie was very good with me and soon teletubbie hill was in sight. "Up here you say ok let's do this" The view from the top was so good I forgot mr squeaky blue duck was here and just kept going. "We did it Helen high five me" To say I was pleased with myself was an understatement. I did speed up going back...well it was nearly tea time. So I am a loving good boy and with a bit of perseverance and treats obvs, I could...sorry can be a lovely furever family member so pop and say hi. Oh by the way Helen I knew mr squeaky blue duck was in your hood.

Walt came home for a visit last week and was he ever a bundle of fun. I tried to take some photos, but it was very difficlut as he didn't stay still for more than a few seconds, there were just too many new things to smell and see. Lots of toys to check out, new furniture to sniff and new people to lick. Here are a few pics that aren't too blurry...... He really is a lovely little chap that would provide so much love if you could find a gap onthe sofa for hm.
