Hello little fella Bob was brought into the Home after being found straying. He is microchipped, but the owners details are not to up date, and no-one has come forward to claim him. Although he has been at the Home for almost a week, visitors might not have seen him. Bob is still a little bewildered at his new surroundings, and prefers to hide in his bed at the back of his kennel, rather than come out to say 'hi' to visitors. We took Bob into the garden for a bit of 'getting to know you' time. He's a very compliant little chap, not in the least bit vocal, and for about 20 minutes, he just sat, and watched. Getting newbies to come out of their shell is mostly a waiting game..... Bob wasn't interested in the toys or squeakies, but his eyes lit up when he got a sniff of the pate! Despite being a little underweight - Bob has obviously not been dining at the finest eateries anytime recently - he was very gentle taking treats from our fingers... And slowly slowly, Bob began to let his guard down, and with a little help from his new Friends, was brave enough to explore the garden! He didn't want to be too far away from us though, well, it just might have been the pate wot did it! Bob does need a little tlc, he needs building up, both physically and emotionally, and without a doubt he will make a fabulous, low maintenance little companion dog. If his owners don't come forward for him, and that really doesn't seem likely now, Bob will be available for rehoming from 9th November. If you would like more information on him please phone the Dogs' Home: 029 2071 1243 or visit Cardiff Dogs' Home, Westpoint Industrial Estate, Penarth Road, open 7 days a week, 10.30 - 4pm. Mon/Thurs till 6pm For more information about the rehoming process at Cardiff Dogs Home, please click on the link below: REHOMING PROCESS

I took Bob out Sunday morning and what a lovely boy he is. He seemed quite happy to be out and have new smells to get his nose in. He reacted once to another dog which was just a little bark but that was the only time we heard from him. He walked great on the lead, enjoyed having some attention and of course the odds treat - so gentle. We were told when we got back that he was 11 years old which we couldn't believe. He showed no signs of slowing down! Good luck Bob. Would love to take you out again but hopefully it won't be long until you have a lovely sofa to claim your own x

We arrived at the Home around 2pm yesterday and all the dogs had been out for first walkies except for Bob. We didn't have a clue what type of dog Bob was (the member of staff we spoke to thought he was a staffie) - so we said we would take him anyway, whatever he turned out to be. We were delighted when this cute little terrier came out for a walk with us, he seemed so happy to be out, cocking his leg on every post and bush en route. He answers to his name, even giving a little bark at one point to say "Yes, I'm Bob". Poor little Bob is definitely in need of some TLC (and a good bath I think!) - he is a bit worse for wear to say the least. But it didn't stop him walking along nicely on the lead, sniffing everything in sight. He wasn't bothered by traffic but did seem a bit snappy around other dogs (we met a couple of off lead little pooches in Grangemoor Park and Bob wasn't very friendly towards them when they approached us). So best to keep him well away from other dogs, although that's difficult to do when the other dogs are off lead. We stopped to give him a couple of small treats and he did a nice "sit" for us and took the treats quite gently. But he wasn't interested in having any cwtches or any fuss at all. I was really surprised when I read on this forum that Bob is 11 years old - he is quite a lively little character and I am sure that with a bit of pampering and some decent food he is going to blossom and will make someone a lovely little companion in his retirement years.

Oh Bob!I was really looking forward to walking bob this morning after reading his thread on the forum and I wasn't disappointed. He's definately not a happy go lucky dog, in fact when he came out to meet me he looked like he had the worries of the world but despite his sad look we both enjoyed a lovely walk in the sunshine. He's very light on the lead, walks so nicely and despite being told he wasnt dog friendly he didnt bark as we passed other dogs. He's a typical terrier lead by his nose to the ground, and scent marked everything. Responded to his name well but I got the feeling he was more interested in the walk than a fuss which is fair enough. He felt the cold and looked a bit shivery so I took him back and told the staff he needs a jumper on a cold day, but apparently he's an escape artist and wriggles out of them. I really hope Bob finds a warm comfy home soon to put a smile back on that beautiful face.

Took Bob out for his first walk this morning. What a lovely little chap he is! Quite spritely for his age and we set off at a good pace.he knows his name and looks back at you now and again. He had a good sniff around and marked everything!!!!! No reaction to the bikers we past but he does like a good bark at other dogs! 🐶🐶. He does a nice sit for treats and waits at the kerb before we crossed the road. Please, please give him a warm sofa for Christmas. Such a wonderful little dog with lots of life still in him x

Took Bob out again today and I can't understand why he's still not found his forever home. He was very happy today, rushed out with his tail wagging! Had a little jog down the lane then settled into a nice pace, he is so light on the lead, no pulling. He is such a sweet little dog, enjoyed having a little cwtch at the benches in Grangemoor and then it was a lovely settled walk back to the home. He is a delight. ❤️❤️

Is Bob still available for rehoming? My mother is interested in rehoming Bob having recently lost our Jack Russell Mickey. I have emailed for an application form but not sure if someone has already rehomed him.

As far as I'm aware Bob is still waiting for his new family to find him. Call them on 02920711243. You need to fill in the application form in person so your mum will need to go down to cdh and meet him them go through the form. Good luck, he's a fab little guy who's been waiting far too long!
