Please whisper a very gentle welcome to Layla
She won't hear you, and if you stood in front of her and beckoned to her, she won't see you. Layla is deaf and blind. This gentle old lady has been abandoned to her fate
Every year, in the weeks before Christmas, old dogs, incontinent dogs, poorly dogs are dumped, and end up in local authority pounds, rescues and rehoming centres - if they are lucky. They have loved their owners faithfully for years, and this is how they are repaid for a lifetime of devoted loyalty. How on earth these people can sleep is simply beyond comprehension.
Layla has been seen by the vets, she doesn't appear to have any underlying illness or disease, the staff say she seems happy enough considering she has lost everything she has ever known and loved... and so we are going to try our hardest to find a retirement home for this old lady. Everyone wants a Christmas puppy this time of year. Layla was someone's 'Christmas puppy' once....
Layla still enjoys being petted, cuddled, and loved. She is still looking for the kindness she once knew, for comforting, familiar smells that helped her cope with living in silence, and in darkness..
Please help us find Layla somewhere safe to live out her retirement.
Layla is available for rehoming immediately. Please contact the staff if you'd like to meet her - TEL 01633 290 902 between 11am - 1pm or 2pm - 4pm, or pop in for a visit! No appointment needed!
Rehoming fees are from £100 - £200 depending on the age/breed of the dog, but the staff will consider a reduced rehoming fee for Layla. 1st vaccination, flea & worm treatment, and microchip are included, and due to Layla's age the staff and vets may take a view that speying won't be appropriate or necessary.
All applicants will be homechecked prior to approval.
