Well hello there beautiful girl! The voluptuous Margot was brought into the Home by someone who said she found her straying. Margot doesn't really seem the kinda gal to leave the comfort of her sofa to go wandering off on her own, but as she isn't microchipped the staff were unable to trace her owner. With a little help from new new Friend Miss Chris, Margot managed to climb up onto the sofa in the rehoming hub! Ahhhh, So-Fa, So Good eh Margot? Margot is a typical, friendly, licky-kissy staffie girl! The staff have guestimated her age at between 4-6 years and she is available for rehoming immediately. If you'd like to meet her please contact the staff on 01633 290 902 between 11am - 1pm or 2pm - 4pm, or pop in for a visit! No appointment needed! Rehoming fees are from £100 - £200 depending on the age/breed of the dog, and include 1st vaccination, flea & worm treatment, and microchip. It is a condition of the rehoming contract that all dogs are neutered/spayed. Subsidised vouchers are available at £35, this is in addition to the rehoming fee. All applicants will be homechecked prior to approval.

Margot. Little miss fattie. You put a smile on my face from the minute you came out of the kennel to the moment you reluctantly went back in. Yes at this current moment in time she's a little on the shall we say large side but my friend who walked her soon found out Margo isn't a slouch and would've carried on walking she is also very loving. Let's get Margo out and about the pounds will drop off and she will be more beautiful if that's ever possible. Keep smiling Margot you gorgeous girl.

I agree, this smiley, snuffly lady seems to put a smile on your face too, with her good nature and enthusiasm - even on a miserable, rainy, day.

Margot, although small in stature and of ample proportions certainly isn't lacking in the energy and stamina department - it was full steam ahead on our walk recently! Margot was so keen to stretch her little legs (which is not surprising after spending many hours in the confined space of her kennel), she was only occasionally sidetracked by an interesting scent that required her attention. I'm sure she would've continued onward till dusk if she had the choice! During our walkies, we were accompanied by lovely Lolly (and her fave walker, auntie June), and the two wonderful woofers walked, side by side, for the best part of the time they had to enjoy the fresh air. Margot has such a sweet, loving nature, it was difficult to part company with her. After she had reluctantly returned to her kennel, I knelt down outside her pen to say goodbye, and Margot in turn leant her right side into the cold metal bars for some comforting caresses, bless her (naturally I was only too happy to oblige). But as I stood up, Margot placed one of her front paws on the bars and looked up and met my eyes. At that point I truly wished it was possible to take her home with me there and then. I really hope Margot doesn't have to wait too long for a permanent home she so desperately needs and deserves. Margot has already dwindled in size as the extra weight she's carrying gradually disappears; but her unconditional love and devotion for her new forever family will never diminish...

Happily, I had another opportunity to walk with the marvellous Miss Margot yesterday! And once again Margot had the chance to walk with another fab pooch in close proximity - this time in the shape of Wonderful Winston (with his auntie June in tow ). I think Winston's tracker dog activities must've had an effect on Margot, as she too was snuffling to her heart's content in the grass - much more than on our previous walk. Once we returned back to the Home, I was really hoping that the sofa in the rehoming hub would be free, so Margot and I could enjoy a big hug together. Fortunately the cuddling couch was available, and sweet Margot lost no time in snuggling up to yours truly, while making the most endearing snorting sounds out of sheer delight and contentment. Margot is an absolute poppet and it's always a joy to spend time with her; and she'll without a doubt enrich the lives/life of her future family/special someone. Sadly, Margot will be spending this Christmas alone in her concrete kennel. But hopefully, this adorable bundle of love will be enjoying cuddles aplenty with her forever folk in the new year.

Hi, last week we unfortunately lost our beautiful 14 year old staff bitch and we are devastated. We have 3 tiny chihuahuas and a staffy cross bull dog male and they are all pining as she was the nanny dog. We miss her so much and would love to give a good home to staffy in need. Margo reminds me so much of our Roxy, the smily face! We have three acres of land for her to enjoy and think we could possibly give her a great home! We live in cwmcarn and wonder if it's possible to make an appointment please, many thanks , Rhian

Hi Rhian, so sorry to hear about your loss that's very sad.
You need to contact the dogs home directly to arrange to meet Margot and the staff will also help to introduce her to your dogs. See information above for how to make an appointment and opening times

Poor Margot. She has been in kennels for such a long while now, and is not doing very well, being depressed and, if anything, even fatter. She is such a sweet girl, and is dog-friendly. Could you be the one to take me home?

For reasons we simply cannot understand - Margot IS still waiting! She is absolutely golden, amazingly affectionate around humans, and so steady around dogs the staff and volunteers regularly call on Margot to help the incoming newbies relax and settle. She is truly a fabulous little girl, and has spent far too long in kennels. Do pop up to see her! You won't be disappointed, you really won't, she is everything a good dog should be - and some!

Enjoy your visit to the Home tomorrow Amy. You'll receive a very warm welcome from the staff, and especially Margot. She really is the bee's knees and an absolute sweetheart to the staff and volunteers alike. I hope the sofa is free for you to cosy up with marvellous Margot in the rehoming hub - a cwtchathon is guaranteed!☺️
