This lovely boy is Bear Bear arrived at cdh with his friend Buster. The two boys seem to have lived outside, and perhaps haven't experienced a home environment. They have both settled ok in their kennels but were happy to come out briefly today to say hello Bear has a docked tail, unlike Buster. He is around 8 years old We didn't spend much time with Bear today, but he was very gentle and welcoming to us. We will look forward to hearing how these two boys get on once the purple pilgrims start working their magic on him! Bear will be available for rehoming from 4th December. We had the absolute pleasure of taking both Buster and Bear out this morning! I'd been hoping to take at least one of them for a walk, as I love Rotties, but when we asked for Buster we were told we could take Bear out as well if we liked! Never one to turn a dog down, we set off with these two very handsome boys! Bear is the younger and larger of the two boys, with an unfortunately docked but nevertheless handsome little tail. Bear likes to set a bit of faster pace than Buster and would probably enjoy a good run about the garden or jog with his future owners, but he was happy enough to slow down so Buster didn't tire himself out trying to keep up. Regardless of their differences in preferred paces, both Bear and Buster walk wonderfully on the lead and are very attentive to basic vocal commands. By the time we reached the first benches poor Buster was quite worn out but Bear wasn't quite as eager to stop just yet, so Dad carried on with Bear a little further into Grangemoor Park while I sat with Buster. Bear was thrilled to set a quicker pace and stretch his legs, but definitely happy to be back with Buster. After a few extra minutes of walking Bear was much more content to sit with us and have a cuddle and a fuss. Bear, like Buster, was very gentle while taking treats and very happy to sit and give paw in exchange. When we passed other dogs Bear did show interest in them but there was zero aggression and just a desire to play and say hello. Bear and Buster really adore each other. They were constantly checking back on one another, particularly Bear who mostly took the lead due to Buster's slower pace, and they'd take the time to lick each other every so often, or even just stop to have a quick sniff and check everything was okay. When Dad took Bear for an quick extra walk he said that Bear, while happy to be stretching his legs and picking up the pace a little, did look back now and then to see if Buster was behind them. Buster definitely missed Bear, with a little whine now and then, but again didn't try to pull and follow them and seemed quite content to sit with me for a cwtch. While I don't think they're dependent on one another, they're certainly happy to be in each other's company. These boys definitely deserve the comfy sofas and loving homes they've likely been without for the majority of their lives, and with any luck they'll find that before christmas!

Bear! What a gem! Bear is a big boy but what a blooming softie! When he was brought out I was expecting him to pull (just because of his size) but not even a little bit! Bear walked right next to me the whole time! We walked down the Ely trail and he seemed to love every minute of it! We came across the odd dog and bear didn't even bat an eyelid just looked at them while walking past! I really really really can't say a bad thing about him! Only thing I would say is when he has a wee he does like to kick grass/leaves over it so just be careful you don't get in the way! Bear is a great size, you can give him a little scratch on his back while walking along without even crouching down! He loved a bit of fuss, called his name and he'd trot over for a good cuddle. Also he was very responsive when he heard the treat bag, instantly sat with his paw up ! When we were walking down the trail, an older gentleman came up behind on a mobility scooter and asked for the time, bear was quite keen to have a sniff, the man asked if he bites (sad misconception of rotties) and I explained how lovely bear was and the man gave him a good smooth and bear didn't mind at all, it's always nice to see a dog making someone smile. Bear was more than happy to walk next to the scooter while we chatted about the dogs home. He really is no trouble at all, very well mannered and a very handsome dog!
