Please welcome our latest incoming snow dog, Skylo
It was getting a little late when we brought Skylo our for her pics this afternoon, so it was a bit of a speed date, but long enough to find out this girl is an absolute beauty, and still verrrrrrry puppylike in her behaviour! She is sooooo happy! Spot the tail - it's a blur!!!
Skylo is chipped, but the telephone number on her microchip is no longer available. She is just over a year old, born October 2015, and without a doubt was someone's 'Christmas Puppy' last year. But there's no sign of her owner, and no real indication that they have given her any training either. Skylo's 'sit' 'stay' & 'down' were more luck than judgement, and even though she is of an age where she really should have learned some food manners, the word 'gentle' means nothing to Skylo.
Walkers - please do not give Skylo treats from your hands - not if you value your fingers!
Into the vet room for a quick photo session! Skylo loves the camera - and it really loves her!
We still didn't have much luck with even basic commands, it's a good job you're pretty Skylo
This isn't a 'down'. This is an 'I'm creeping forward slowly because I know you have sausages in your hand and hoping you won't notice me coming if I stay close to the floor'....
Cheeky girl! But absolutely adorable!
If Skylo's owners don't come forward for her, she will be available for rehoming from 16th December, but CDH does not rehome dogs immediately before Christmas, so applicants would need to discuss timings with the staff. If you would like more information, or would like to meet Skylo, please phone the Dogs' Home: 029 2071 1243 or visit Cardiff Dogs' Home, Westpoint Industrial Estate, Penarth Road, open 7 days a week, 10.30 - 4pm.
