If for whatever reason this lovely boy needs a foster home with 2 rescue dogs that came from cardiff dogs home we would be more than welcome. It seems that he has a lovely friend helping him out already but we are happy to help. We rehomed a saluki x who was also in bad shape a year ago, how anyone can let a dog get that bad I will never know. Had he is receiving the correct care now .

Thanks Chelsie, that's really kind! Shadow has settled wonderfully with Chris. He has plenty of company (both two-legged and four legged), but thank you for the offer. It's so heartwarming to know that so many people are keeping Shadow in their thoughts

Starting to see a difference, now. The first night that he was with me, he spent the entire evening biting and scratching at himself and, by the morning had removed a patch of fur along his spine and on one shoulder. A huge vote of thanks must go to Friends of the Dogs, who insisted that, if I was at all worried, I was to book an immediate vet visit, and they would foot the bill, and to you supporters, who make this sort of thing possible. After a couple of days of steroids and antibiotics, he is now much less itchy and there is no sign of new trauma to his skin.

We met Shadow for the first time today. He was very quiet but friendly and confident. I expected him to be more wary of strangers but he came and greeted both humans and our dog Sali. Sali and Shadow got along really well-we're looking forward to seeing him again soon.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=G29amnp2_98This lad is just super. He has brilliant manners with dogs, ignores my cat and chickens and is pretty much house-trained, having had no "accidents" for over a week. You certainly aren't advised to leave food about, or it will disappear, but, that's totally understandable, given his sad past. His fur is still sparse and unsightly in places, but he has no more irritation and new hair is starting to grow nicely. I'm getting to really appreciate Lurchers - they are just such easy dogs to live with.

Shadow has gone to his new home with Frances, Jim and their three children. They had seen his article in the South Wales Argus and decided, then and there, to adopt him. He had his final vet visit, where the vet was very satisfied with his skin and general condition and, completely unprompted, stood on the scales, where he weighed in at 22.3kg, a whopping 10kg heavier than his weight when found, four and a half weeks ago. We went to visit his prospective new home on Wednesday and Shadow had a great time racing round with the three resident sighthounds (all rescues). Although much smaller than them, I wouldn’t be at all surprised if he turns out to be the cheekiest ! Good luck, lovely boy. you thoroughly deserve it !
