Feeling a bit down? Fed up? No energy? Down in the dumps? Need a reason to get up in the mornings? You need a LOKI in your life! Loki may look like a dog, sounds like a dog, and walk like a dog - but honestly peeps, this guy is pure Prozac! We would defy anyone to spend time with Loki, and not have a big fat smile on their face! He's a great big goofy tonic! As Loki has already had his vacc's, we took him into the garden for a bit of fun, and he didn't disappoint! Loki had the pic of the toy box - recently populated with fab playthings thanks to all the Christmas pressies everyone kindly donated[img style="max-width:100%;" src=" Big red furry snake was the top of Loki's wish list! "OMG - I LOVE this toy! Can I keep it"? Are you SURE you want the red furry snake Loki? We still have some left over Squeaky Christmas Puddings! Well, I'll slap my paw into your hand for that, thanks Louise.... Yeah, it's nice, it squeaks, but it's just not a red snake..... OK big boy - let's see just what you'll do for your bestest toy! "Down Loki"! "Immediately Ma'am"! "annnnd roll over"! "Only if you tickle my tum while I'm here"! "C'mon, I'll give you BOTH paws for that snake"! According to his microchip, Loki was born on 15th January 2016, so he spent his first birthday abandoned and homeless in kennels. Shame on his owners but honestly - Loki doesn't seem to mind one little bit! Loki isn't available on prescription, but he is available for adoption from 18th January! if you would like more information, or would like to meet him, please phone the Dogs' Home: 029 2071 1243 or visit Cardiff Dogs' Home, Westpoint Industrial Estate, Penarth Road, open 7 days a week, 10.30 - 4pm. For more information about the rehoming process at Cardiff Dogs Home, please click hereETA: Loki was previously named Gilbert, but he seems to prefer his new name, so we're letting him keep it

Had a lovely day with beautiful Gilbert today! We took him to the meet and great at M&S. He absolutely loved the attention and was rolling over for belly rubs!! He is young, excitable, full of love and enjoys his walks!! Food driven so should be easy to train!

Took this fabulous young chap out yesterday for a long walk - and I'm in love! Hes absolutely flipping gorgeous - just look at that face?! Just as Baglady said - I couldn't stop smiling, it's impossible to feel down with Gilbert around. He's a bundle of fun that will need a lot of excercise to burn off some of that puppy energy, coach potatoes need not apply - but who needs a gym membership when you could have this guy to excercise with?! Although he was clearly loving being out and about for a walk, he was more than happy to take a couple of short breaks for a quick cuddle and a fuss before we were off again - he definitely has a lot of love to give to the lucky person that gets to adopt him. I can't believe nobody has snapped him up yet, but I'm sure it won't be long. To anyone considering adopting Gilbert - please go and meet him, you won't be disappointed. If I had the space and time to devote to him I'd be at the front of the queue!

Our lovely youngster seemed to find his new home a bit overwhelming and he has indeed come back to Cardiff Dogs Home He is none the worse for his little holiday, and has settled back into the routine quickly. He kinda liked his new name, Loki, so the staff said he can keep it

Saturday after his walk we were lucky enough to spend some time with Loki in the sensory garden. He was an absolute please to be around and bought a smile to all our faces. Loki loves toys and after a quick run around in the sun playing fetch, he would settle down next to someone and want his belly rubbed whilst he played with his toy. We all happily obliged! Charl then bought out the bubbles and oh boy did he love them! Shelley did an amazing job at capturing the beauty that is Loki in these amazing photos!

I had a lovely walk with Loki. After initial great excitement at going out for a walk (who can blame him for that! ) and being a bit jumpy he quickly settled into walking and was happy to trot alongside. He found a prize along the way, a football soft toy that even still squeaked! ! He carried it all the way around on our walk and only put it down when we stopped to rest. When we stopped he just lay at my feet happily. I wish my own dogs were half as chilled as he is! He's a bright boy, and so sweet, happily sat and gave me his paw for a little treat. Whilst walking he was great with people, not bothered by traffic or bikes. He wanted to say hello to other dogs we passed but there was no barking at any time from him. Loki is a fab boy and I think he'll be the most loyal loving companion for the right person or family. He just needs to be given that chance.

Alison and I took Loki out for an adventure on Saturday and he was absolutely brilliantly behaved. We took two balls with us which Loki would decide when he wanted to hold one - however he sat beautifully time he wanted to hold one. Loki loved all the smells in and amongst the flowers and would often stop to run his nose everywhere! There were a few times he caught on to some scents and just had to go and investigate. However he was great with a little encouragement to keep on walking. Apparently there was something really interesting in here..! Something us humans just couldn't see. Loki is really attentive and can sit, "paw", "other paw" and beg! Plus he's really patient when you are trying to get that perfect photo of him looking at you And the best photo? This one. Where he was just relaxing and having a munch on a stick.! Loki is a really lovely dog

Hi furfriends it's meeeeeee Loki the handsome husky cross 😎😚 I went on a 3 hour walk this morning with Alex and I was on my best behaviour at all times. I took my stuffed ball and me and Al played a bit of football, even though I did let her win a few times hehe. I then found myself a big boy stick and I was sooooooo proud of myself. I tried to eat it, carry it, and play with it. Passers by kept saying how handsome and friendly I was 😆😎 I was very good today. On our way back to the Hotel I came across a little teddy and boy I love toys so much that's another one to add to my collection. I didn't care about the football then, I told Alex to carry it as a new teddy bear was in town and it was mine 😜 hehehe. Alex said she couldn't fault me on my walk today and fingers crossed my new furever family will be here in no time and they will have loads of toys for me to play with 💙💙💙💙 Bye friends lots of Loki cuddles and big boy sticks hehehehe 💜💜💜💜

After numerous 'getting to know you' visits from his besotted new peeps, Loki has finally left the building for the second time but sadly things just didn't work out for him and he has been returned Loki is not an 'easy' dog, as he matures into young adulthood he is becoming more assertive and as he doesn't have a close bond with a master or mistress he sometimes chooses to do his own thing regardless, and this can be quite challenging. We would love to see Loki settled into a home as an only dog and with a very experienced owner who is able to set and maintain boundaries for Loki whilst earning his trust, respect and affection.
