Please give a very warm Friends welcome to Reba Rottie This beautiful lady was brought to Cardiff Dogs Home from a neighbouring local authority pound, and she absolutely adores Rob, her very best friend, with whom she bonded the moment she met him! Reba was carrying a few extra pounds when she arrived but she's already dropped a couple of kilo's. And here's why... Reba loves balls! Fetching.... Catching... She retrieves like a pro, brings it back, throws it at your feet, then waits for the game to start all over again... She knows how to ask nicely.... What a difference from the very worried and anxious girl who arrived just a week ago! Reba has a large kennel in the stables, separate from the main kennel block, so if you'd like to meet her you'll need to ask for her by name. Reba is available for rehoming from immediately, and if you would like more information, or would like to meet her please phone the Dogs' Home: 029 2071 1243 or visit Cardiff Dogs' Home, Westpoint Industrial Estate, Penarth Road, open 7 days a week, 10.30 - 4pm. For more information about the rehoming process at Cardiff Dogs Home, please click here

She's an absolute sweetie! Reba still gets a little anxious around strangers, especially if they invade her personal space uninvited, but she is extremely affectionate towards the staff and volunteers who have taken the time to get to know her - especially staff member Rob, who has spent so much time with her, helping her adjust to her new surroundings and the routine of kennel life. Reba would lay down her life for someone she knows she can trust. She's a fabulously faithful girl

Any news on how this gorgeous girl is doing? Giving her post a little bump as it breaks my heart seeing a beautiful rottie sat at the bottom of page 2 maybe being missed 🙁 x

I'm looking forward to seeing the latest pics of this wonderful woofer.😍 I should imagine all the lovely walks with her two-legged friends has helped Reba to lose those extra pounds she was carrying when she first arrived at CDH!😉

Does Reba get on with other dogs? I have a Rottie bitch, who was a rescue, that I am looking to get company for.

Reba struggles a little with dogs she doesn't know, but if I'm honest I sometimes struggle with people I don't know at first If you get a chance to pop down, speak with staff member Rob. He knows Reba better than anyone, and she would trust him with her life.

Hi there, I really hope Reba has found a home by now and is receiving the attention she deserves! If not then may I ask how she is with young children? I would love to offer Reba a loving family home if possible, thank you.

Hi kylemurray. Reba was still there last time I was at the home, she's beautiful! Best thing to do is either pop down if you can or call the home on 02920711243 and speak to Rob. Good luck!

Thank you for the quick reply Kate, unfortunately Reba hasn't found a home yet. I telephoned and spoke to a lady but she informed me we will be unable to give Reba a home as we have a young child. It is a real shame as we were looking forward to meeting her and offering a loving environment for her. I hope she finds somewhere soon

Oh that's a shame - but I guess Reba's not the one for you. Maybe have a look who else is available in both Cardiff & Newport though - there are some awesome dogs at both homes waiting for their forever families. If you're specifically looking for a Rottie, have you seen Samson? friendsofcardiffdogs.proboards.com/thread/6649/k40-samson-gorgeous-rottie-hunkI'm unsure of exactly what requirements he has - but it may be worth another call to the home if you like the look of him. If not, keep checking the forum as it's updated all the time! I'm sure the right dog will find you eventually

Reba just wasn't getting the breaks at Cardiff Dogs Home, but the staff have found an amazing rescue place for her. Staff member Rob was with her to make sure she was happy with her new temporary home.... Rob messaged us.... She was in her element off lead in an enclosed field playing ball. It was as if she knew what to do ....... Reba was playing with the kennel staff & left me like a stood up date. It's fab there 🙂 nice kennels, enclosed fields & even an aqua therapy pool. Sounds perfect for our lovely girl!
