Here's a smile that will brighten any day Hubert is bundle of fun and had us smiling the whole time we had him out. We took him for a quick stroll before going into the garden and he walked well on the lead. Hubert had great fun zooming around the garden and playing with the toys. He had is a cheeky chappie and had great fun coming within a few inches of us with his toys and then zooming away. Come and get it After giving us the run around he came to show us his affectionate side and was straight onto his back for tummy tickles when Pete joined us in the garden, have a feeling Hubert is going to be a daddys boy. Hubert was able to show us that he has mastered his commands with a superb sit. Hubert is available for rehoming now. For more information, or would like to meet him, please phone the Dogs' Home: 029 2071 1243 or visit Cardiff Dogs' Home, Westpoint Industrial Estate, Penarth Road, open 7 days a week, 10.30 - 4pm. It may have been drizzly out there but it didn't stop me from having a good walk with this charming chap this afternoon. He had lots of admirers when we were out, thanks to his unusual markings. Bundles of fun!

Unfortunately poor little Hubert has been returned to the Home. The staff mentioned that his rehomers had said he'd gotten along fine with their resident dog but was barking a lot at other dogs they came across. There's possibly more to it than that so I can't say anymore without having all the details, but we didn't have any issues with this handsome little man on our walk. We'd missed out on taking Hubert for walkies the first time he was at CDH, and though we'd obviously rather him not be back again just so we could walk him, it was so wonderful to get to spend some time with him. Hubert can be a little determined when walking but he's never too strong to control and he'll wait patiently when you ask him to. With some regular exercise and training, I'm certain he'll be the perfect walking companion. Little Bertie did show some interest in other dogs that we passed - he definitely wanted to go over and say hello - but he didn't show any aggression at all and we didn't hear a peep from him the entire walk. Not even when we passed Oscar down the lane who, true to his nature, gave us all a very houndy hello. Bertie took treats very softly and sat for us when asked, but was far more interested in having a good old cwtch. This gorgeous boy is very very cwtchy and he has the softest fur! I'm sure he'd absolutely love to snuggle up on a comfy sofa of his own, with a loving family of his own! Bertie showed a lot of interest in other people as well - I'm pretty sure he'd be quite happy to cuddle anyone who asked. We didn't get a chance to take him into the garden but you can see from his intro post above that he's a very playful lad. He did have a bit of a poorly belly and bloody stool when we took him out, which we made sure to tell the staff, but hopefully it's just from the stress of changing food/environment etc and he'll be feeling better and much less subdued once he's had a chance to settle. Even with all the upheaval he's been through since he was first at the Home, Bertie is just sweetest and softest little boy and I'm sure he'll find his forever forever home soon enough.

Well done, Bertie! Much as I love him, I hope we don't see him back at the Home again. Unless it's just for visits

Poor Hubert has been returned to CDH - some dogs just don't get the breaks He hasn't put a paw wrong, but apparently his owners have had a change of circumstances and thought it would be better for Hubert if he was returned to the Home. Aunty Sian - he has missed you, and says will his favourite aunty put him on the top of her list when she comes down next. Let's hope next time 'forever' means 'forever' eh Hubert

We have never walked Hubert when he was previously at CDH as from January to June we were fully occupied with fostering another dog. We took him for a walk today and he was an angel! Toileted as soon as he came out, walked great on the lead, no pulling whatsoever. He also passed loads of other dogs with no reaction at all. We passed Taro, Mollie the Collie, Sid and several other dogs and although Taro barked at him when we passed, Hubert didn't bat an eyelid. We also bumped into a couple walking Flint and I couldn't resist going over to see him - he enjoyed a cwtch and rolled over for a belly rub. But Hubert was a bit jealous and barked at me as if to say "What about me??" It's safe to say that Hubert loves a cwtch and enjoys having his ears scratched. I think Hubert would be a very easy dog to have in your home - easy to walk, not aggressive around other dogs, walkers or cyclists. Loves a cwtch. I think he just needs the right sofa to curl up on, hopefully this time for ever.

Poor Bertie-boy. He greeted me with a lovely doggie-hug when he came out this morning and he's such a sweet and affectionate chap. Very well behaved on the walk and hopefully he won't have to wait too long before he gets third time lucky.
