Roland bounced into our lives yesterday! He's just a young lad, we think possibly 6 months or younger, and he certainly hasn't lost his fabulous puppiness! He was such fun to spend time with, bounding around the room playing with us and with the toys We believe Roland is a springer x staffie, and he's probably still got some growing to do. He is full of the joys of spring, and incredibly affectionate.I haven't been pinned to the floor and smothered in kisses by a dog in a while He's a bright boy and already knows how to sit, and I'm sure he will thoroughly enjoy continuing to learn new things. Roland is available for rehoming now. If you would like more information, or would like to meet Roland, please phone the Dogs' Home: 029 2071 1243 or visit Cardiff Dogs' Home, Westpoint Industrial Estate, Penarth Road, open 7 days a week, 10.30 - 4pm. Roland had more visitors than you could shake a stick at from the moment he arrived at the Home! Not surprisingly he left the building pdq! Congratulations to Roland's forever family - you've got yourself a good un!

So... it is now six weeks since Roland bounded into our home and right from the word go he has become a big part of the family!! He had a bit of a baptism by fire on his second day with us as it was my Daughters birthday and he had at least 11 girls all smoothing him - he took it in his stride and lapped up all the attention! He is now called Dexter and has settled in nicely! A few accidents have occurred in the house, but now he knows when to ask to go out and we know his signs of wanting to go out too!! He has settled into our daily routine, he alternates between his 'office' basket and the ' office' sofa when I am working. Evenings are spent cuddled up with my 11 and 9 year old's and once they head upstairs he decides he will spend some time with the grownups - only because it means he might get to lie on a lap - although having gained over 2kg since moving in he is getting bigger by the day!! Out and about he is generally good on the lead, but wants to look at everything! Off the lead he like to range a long way from you and is not concerned being out of sight of you. We try to keep him close, but when there are other dogs around it's just too tempting to go and see if they want to play!! The return is challenging!!
