Well I don't even know where to start with how perfect this boy is!
I was meant to be giving Rascal (K39) a spot of restbite this weekend, but when I walked past Blue, my heart skipped a beat!
Even looking glum and sorry for himself, he was still beautiful!!
I instantly knew I had to have him for the weekend! (sorry Rascal!)
Straight away he was excited to be out, and did pull slightly on the lead - but what can you expect from a husky! It's in his nature!! Plus, I'd be pulling if I'd been in a kennel all day!
He was golden in my car. I don't have a crate, so he was strapped in on the back seat, and he was a perfect passenger
He was still slightly bewildered, and unsure of where we were going / doing.
But the *instant* we were in my house, his playful puppiness came out to play. And boy, oh boy, he's a playful one!!!
As soon as he realised he was here for a while, he made himself comfy!! (He did look at me before jumping up / going upstairs as if to check it was allowed - and dogs are more welcome than people in my house, so of course it was!!!)
Just look at his face 😍😍😍
I'm not sure how old he is, but he definitely still has that puppy playfulness. He was great at fetch and tug of war. I would say though, that as he is part husky he growls and plays with his teeth. But at no point was it an aggressive growl. I think if you're not used to the breed, then it might scare you - but that's just how they play!!
My parents popped over with a treat or two for him, and I think he was a little bit smitten by my mother!!
We then put on our handsome 'Adopt Me' matching collar and lead - so everyone knows he's available - and headed down the Cardiff Bay for a little nighttime stroll.
I'll you what, he definitely attracts attention! And he adores it! Everyone on the walk was fawning over him, and when we stopped for a quick drink in The Waterguard, he was lapping up the attention (all whilst not taking his eyes off the staff serving food!!)
When we got back home, we were both shattered so we went straight to bed - and I do mean 'we'!
He slept on the bed with me all night (who doesn't love doggie cuddles throughout the night!!) and only got up for a wee once. And he pawed at the door to let me know! Very clever boy!!
Finally when we woke up in the morning, he definitely had the 'Sunday Morning Feeling' and I think he could have snoozed a bit more...
Finally we were up and ready for our adventure day trip to the beach!! The look on his face when he realised we were at the beach was priceless. He looked like every sad thought and worry just got washed away by the sea!
Due to not knowing his history, I was hesitant to let him meet other dogs. But I had absolutely no reason to be! The perfect gentleman! Dogs on and off lead were coming up to him, and he just wanted to play with every single one of them!!
After a busy day of walking and making lots of new friends, he was zonked on the drive back!
And when we got home, he went back to relaxing.
I think he knew where we were going when I had to take him back and it broke my heart!!! I kept saying to him 'it's not your fault. I love you. I wish I could keep you'. But he still had a sulk.
I would say that he is an incredible dog that would complete any family. He is friendly and playful. But I don't think he quite realises his size and strength at the moment - but nothing a spot of training wouldn't help with. Speaking of training, he does a perfect sit and paw! And he *loves* giving kisses. My face was covered in slobber for most of the weekend!!!
When he got overly excited he would bark, and it is quite a loud bark, but when children get excited they scream - so there's no difference! As he ages, you just need to teach him to stay calm and quiet - like you would with any child, fur or human!!
I miss him already, and if my situation was different, I would have him in a heartbeat.
He has so much love to offer, he just needs someone willing to love him even half as much as he would love them 💙💙💙💙
