Please give a warm friends welcome to Chino Chino is a beautiful and well mannered shar-pei mix. We don't know who his mamma batted her eyelids at, but he's probably not a full shar-pei, which is good news for Chino from a health point of view! Many full shar-peis are bred from a very limited gene pool, which can result in inherent health issues. But apart from a rather 'tufty' coat, Chino seems as fit as a butcher's dog! Chino has had a spa day with staff member Emma, and he was good as gold in the bath, and suffered the 'blaster' without complaint! Good boy Chino! We didn't get to spend much time with Chino today, so it's over to the Pilgrims to fill in the blanks, but it didn't take him long to demonstrate that he is perfectly well mannered, and has more than a little basic training under his belt! Chino is polite and gentle, there's not a bad bone in him! If you've never met a shar-pei, come and meet him! He'll win your heart in a nanosecond! Chino is available for rehoming immediately, and if you would like more information, or would like to meet him, please phone the Dogs' Home: 029 2071 1243 or visit Cardiff Dogs' Home, Westpoint Industrial Estate, Penarth Road, open 7 days a week, 10.30 - 4pm. We had the absolute pleasure of this fellas company yesterday morning and what a fabulous boy he is! He was perfect on the lead, and despite passing a number of other dogs he didn't react at all, other than to give a little interested tail wag. The weather was doing all sorts - sun, wind, rain - Chino just seemed very happy to be out and he is very comfortable in his own (wrinkly) skin. He has beautiful eyes and the softest velvet like nose and head I think I've ever felt. And his tufty fur is super cute. The only time Chino was a bit startled was when a very fast bus came up behind us, he nearly jumped out of his teddy bear skin! this little boy is cool and calm, very affectionate and handsome to boot - hopefully he will find his forever family very soon.

Charming Chino took me for a lovely walk this afternoon! He has the most wonderful soft fur on his wrinkly head! He is a strong boy but easily distracted with treats, which he takes gently with an immediate sit and paw! We met a couple of loose dogs and he was interested but not aggressive in any way. Good to go boy, a delight to walk. Xx

Oooh, it's hard to resist a gorgeous squishy faced Shar-Pei! Chino is absolutely adorable and so incredibly gentle. We set off down the lane at an energetic pace - Chino likes to lead the way - but he was never too strong or unmanageable, simply prefering to stay just ahead of us. It was quite a busy day at the Home and we passed by a lot of other dogs, all of whom Chino met with a very waggy tail but otherwise was happy to pass by, even when they were a little more vocal in their greetings. Chino isn't just a fan of his fellow four-legged friends, however, and he seemed quite eager to say hello to everyone we passed, though he didn't try to jump up at them or anything. Just a lot of tail wagging! Chino takes treats so gently, pausing initially just to make sure his teeth don't even touch your fingers, and is only too happy to show off his many tricks in exchange. Chino also seems to know how to count, as he was very aware when Dad hadn't given him a treat yet Chino is a very handsome, very soft, and very sweet boy. I can't imagine he'll be waiting long to find his new family, but we'll be only too happy to walk (and cwtch) him until then!

Took the lovely Chino out for walkies today & he was an absolute dream to walk. So gentle on the lead & even though we were walking alongside the main road, he wasnt at all bothered by the noise of the cars. He loved seeing the other dogs at the home & was very gentle with them all. Definitely ready to go to his forever home

I had the great pleasure of walking Chino yesterday. He's such a gentleman. Great on his lead with no pulling and patiently waiting for lights to change when crossing the road. Chino is a dream

I walked the lovely Chino today and as usual he was as good as gold. He's so gentle and polite and doesn't pull on the lead. I'm surprised he hasn't been snapped up yet. I love walking Chino
