Prepare to lose your hearts - here comes the adorable Baldrick
This little wriggle monster has had a traumatic few days. He was found distressed and in considerable discomfort having suffered a severe bowel prolapse, so was taken straight to the vets for emergency surgery. He has been aged by the vets at around 5 - 6 months, and like most youngsters Baldrick has bounced back like a rubber ball from his recent troubles!
Baldrick can't go outdoors for a little while yet, and is confined to a crate until the vets are happy that his surgery has been a complete success. But he was soooooo happy to stretch his puppy legs in the vet room!
He absolutely loves goofing around!
And he loves a good scritch too! His coat isn't as glossy as it should be, and he's probably a little itchy, but he'll be feeling so much better with a bit of good nutrition, clean bedding, and a spa day!
He's a wriggly-piggly little livewire, and we simply couldn't get him to stay, stand or sit still for a nanosecond! C'mon now Baldrick - let's have a close up of that face only a mother could love
But I'm a puppy! I don't want to stand still!
Kisses!
As Baldrick arrived as a stray, we can't be sure about his breed mix. His face has the exaggerated features of a Bull Dog, with a marked underbite and his little button-nose is set far back on his face, but he can still touch the tip of his nose with his tongue! Lol, you're just showing off now Baldrick!
But he is quite slender in the body, not as chunky as a full Bull, so either he is the product of very poor breeding, or there is a bit of a mix in his genes. Baldrick isn't in great condition generally, but hopefully with a bit of tlc from the staff and volunteers at the Home he'll be looking a feeling like a million dollars in no time!
He's a very active little pup! Like a bottle of pop!
And incredibly agile, especially considering what he's been through over the past few days!
If Baldrick's owners don't come forward for him, he will be available for rehoming from 20th April. Considering his very poor condition when he arrived, he might be hoping that they don't Who knows?
if you would like more information, or would like to meet Balrick, please phone the Dogs' Home: 029 2071 1243 or visit Cardiff Dogs' Home, Westpoint Industrial Estate, Penarth Road, open 7 days a week, 10.30 - 4pm.
