Please welcome the very beautiful Jessie Jessie has been signed over to the Home, and we are told she is an eight year old westie, but truth be told we can't say how reliable the information regarding her age or breed mix actually is. Jessie is in desperate need of a spa day, and is considerably overweight. She is quiet and a little anxious of strangers, loud noises, sudden movements, and it's not really surprising. We think she's probably had a pretty sheltered life, and her recent change of circumstances must be quite bewildering. Jessie was signed over with Pip, and although they are clearly good friends, they don't seem overly bonded, so the staff will consider rehoming them separately if they appear to cope well without each other. Jessie and Pip had a little snuffle around by the riverbank, getting to know their new surroundings... She was curious about Pip's whereabouts, but not overly concerned if he went out of sight. And once Jessie knew she was in the company of Friends, she seemed to be more interested in Aunty Jen's company than Pip's.. And she puckered up for little pink-tongued kisses! Jessie hasn't seen the vets yet, but it will be a priority to ensure she is given a nutritious diet and regular and appropriate exercise to help her shed those extra pounds! Jessie will be available for rehoming from 7th May, and if you would like more information, or would like to meet her, please phone the Dogs' Home: 029 2071 1243 or visit Cardiff Dogs' Home, Westpoint Industrial Estate, Penarth Road, open 7 days a week, 10.30 - 4pm. Hi. Is Jessie still at CDH when I requested to walk the westie cross yesterday, the lady who works there said they don't have a dog like her there. Just wondering where she's gone?

Hi Chance, sorry for any confusion (I know it was very busy yesterday) but Jessie was definitely still at CDH yesterday afternoon and is available for rehoming from tomorrow x

Had a gentle stroll with Jessie the westie cross today. She was a bit reluctant to go out in the rain & leave Pip but she did eventually have a little walk to the river on site, then we went half way down the lane always looking back for Pip. When we took her back we went to see Pip & he was happy to have his bestie westie back I hope they don't get re-homed separately as they clearly have a strong bond together x

Well the wonderful staff at CDH have worked their magic again and Jessie has come on in leaps and bounds - she is unrecognisable from her initial pics and is now the proud owner of a beautifully soft coat.
Took this lovely lady out for a walk yesterday and all I can say is that she is as nice a dog as you're ever going to meet. She really is a little diamond and I hope she finds her forever home very soon.

We enjoyed the company of this gorgeous girl this morning when we took her out with Pip. She's an absolute dream, so friendly and smiley and easy on the lead. Her and Pip make an adorable pair, so sweet. Hoping they find their forever family soon. X

We took Jessie and Pip home today for a bit of a break from kennels and they were both absolute darlings. Jessie loves to be cwtched and if you stop stroking her she will put her paw on your arm to ask for more. She follows Pip everywhere and vice versa, they are inseparable. Here they are with my son who popped in to see them - they took to him straightaway. Jessie really loved him... We had some more visitors later when my next door neighbour and her daughter (who adopted Ollie and Mitzi recently) popped in to see them both and absolutely loved them. I swear if they didn't have 3 dogs already she would be applying for Jessie and Pip herself. Jessie and Pip were not at all bothered by visitors to the house. Jessie is absolutely adorable, who could resist this face? I hope that they can be rehomed together as they obviously have a very strong bond. They would be welcome in my house any time - perfect house guests! But I have a feeling they will soon find their new forever family.

We took Jessie and her bessie mate Pip for a walk this morning. Jessie wouldn't go anywhere unless Pip was going too, these two are so cute together. I think Jessie has had her new summer haircut since I saw her last week, she looks very smart. And both dogs were sporting new collars. Jessie loves a walk and really enjoys being out and about with her mate... These two little dogs are absolutely lovely and would make perfect companions for someone. You can see how bonded they are, I think it would break their hearts to be separated. Let's hope they find their new forever home together soon.

Were Jessie & Pip rehomed together? No, Pip has gone to a lovely home in Bristol, and Jessie was rehomed locally. x
