Please say 'hi' to Minnie
Minnie is a young shar-pei mix, who arrived at the Home very frightened and anxious. It took her a little while to settle into the routine of kennel life, but since she hit the walkers list she has been one verrrry happy little lady!
Minnie has already had a string of visitors, and she has behaved impecably around little people....
and she is really well socialised around other dogs too! She was absolutely thrilled when we introduced her to Cesar, her new beau
Minnie is suffering from entropian, which is an eye condition commonly found in shar-peis, and she needs urgent surgery as if left untreated entropian can cause painful eye ulcers. This could lead to permanent blindness.
Her eyes are very sore and prone to infection...
The staff at Cardiff Dogs Home asked us if we could fund her surgery, and of course we agreed immediately.
You can imagine how thrilled we were when the manager at our local hostelry, the Merrie Harrier, told us they were holding a fundraising night for us, and wanted to donate the money to pay for Minnie's surgery!
We are incredibly grateful to Leanne and Stacey, and all the staff at the Merrier Harrier who hosted 60's and 70's night courtesy the amazing band 'Creatures of Habit'
Groovy chicks Stacy and Leanne
There you go Minnie! Surgery - sorted!!
Minnie's surgery is scheduled for today, Tuesday 11th, and hopefully she will be feeling as fit as a fiddle in no time!
We are so grateful to everyone who helped raise funds at the 60's & 70's night. Hopefully Minnie will be starting her new life with her new family soon, and your generosity has gifted Minnie her sight. How special is that
