Please whisper a gentle welcome to Echo This beautiful young greyhound was signed over to Cardiff Dogs Home by a local rescue, but he's had a bit of a tough time since he arrived. Echo settled into CDH really quickly, the staff paired him up with Dana Greyhound, and they two of them were besties in no time! CLICK FOR VIDEOAs Echo was signed over to the Home, the staff booked him in for neuter immediately, and as he arrived with a large suspicious lump on his shoulder, it was decided to remove the lump at the same time and get it sent off to the labs for testing. All didn't go well for Echo, he reacted badly to the anaesthetic. The vets did an amazing job at keeping him with us, and Echo is recovering from his ordeal under the tender care of the staff now, but there are concerns that he has an underlying heart problem, and we have been asked to fund further investigations. Please keep Echo in your thoughts, we will update with news as soon as we have his results back. Echo obiously won't be leaving the Home until we know more about the diagnostics and prognosis, but meantime he's in remarkably good spirits! If you would like more information, or would like to meet him, please phone the Dogs' Home: 029 2071 1243 or visit Cardiff Dogs' Home, Westpoint Industrial Estate, Penarth Road, open 7 days a week, 10.30 - 4pm. Poor Echo hasn't had the easiest life so far, but he's taking all those hardships in his leggy stride! He seemed in very bright spirits when we took him out with Dana on Thursday, despite the very dreary and miserable weather, and we weren't told of any restrictions when he was walking (only a short walk etc), so fingers crossed Echo is on the mend now and has no more health worries for the future. He's a very smiley and happy boy and kept doing little bounces when we walked out onto the lane. He got along wonderfully with Dana and seemed very happy to be walking with her. Echo walked wonderfully on the lead and didn't seem concerned about anything at all - not the traffic, the weather, or other dogs. He loves a bit of a fuss and watched passers-by expectantly, waiting for some attention to come his way Who can blame him though, with that handsome pointy face of his? Echo seemed fixated by my Dad right away and kept checking his hands as we left the Home. He must have realised who had the treat bag and wanted to ensure he didn't miss out! Echo is very treat-centric and could do with a few lessons on patience and sharing, but there was zero food aggression and all fingers remained unnibbled! After treat-time and the photo-ops were done, Echo licked out fingers clean and checked our pockets, just to be sure we hadn't forgotten anything He's a very happy chappy who definitely needs to start off his new life as a beloved family member right away!

I have a soft spot for the leggy greyhounds and Echo certainly stole a little bit of my heart today! He was quite excited coming out and is the first grey I've walked that was actually pulling out in front!!!! Very interested in the other dogs but happy to be distracted by a small treat (or two) which he loves!!!! After ten minutes or so he went back to the calm greys we usually see and was so gentle on the lead. He has the most amazing ears! When something grabs his attention they are up but both flop over to the same side!!! Soooo cute! Lovely boy 💙💙💙💙

Anyone know who Echos dad was? I have a rescue greyhound who's dad was Premier Fantasy, and all his offspring look a bit like Echo!

Echo is an absolute dream in every aspect. I've spent a fair amount of time with this boy, and no doubt after his little TV cameo he will be snapped up very soon. He has impeccable lead manners and likes to spend time in the garden - although he spends more time looking for affection than toys!

I walked this handsome boy this morning, and from the minute he came out he was an absolute pleasure to spend time with. He walks beautifully on lead, light as a feather despite being excited to be out & about. He's such a sociable boy, wants to meet & greet everyone we passed, tail wagging, wondering why everyone wasnt running over to make a fuss of him, he is a tv star after all. I cant believe he's not been snapped up yet, hopefully it wont be long.

Good luck Echo - be happy!
