Please give a gentle welcome to Taz This darling boy was brought in as a stray. He is chipped, and the staff were able to contact his registered keeper, but apparently he was given away 3 years ago and the chip details weren't updated. It seems likely that Taz hasn't had the best possible time over the last 3 years. He is in very poor condition. His coat is 'outdoorsy' and unkempt, so it's likely he has been living in a shed Taz's eyes are extremely sore and he shakes his head constantly, so it's possible he is also in pain from ear infections. Taz will be seeing our vets first thing in the morning to give him a thorough health check. Taz seemed beside himself in discomfort from his sore eye, and we really didn't want to stress him so we didn't attempt to put him through his paces today, but hopefully he'll be feeling a lot better once he's had a thorough vet check and we can start to restore him to health. Despite clearly feeling the worse for whatever has happened to him over the last 3 years, Taz was gentle, if distracted, and we're looking forward to seeing this boy blossom with a bit of TLC. If you'd like to meet him please phone the Dogs' Home: 029 2071 1243 or visit Cardiff Dogs' Home, Westpoint Industrial Estate, Penarth Road, open 7 days a week, 10.30 - 4pm. We had a glorious walk this morning with the lovely Taz. He is so friendly and affectionate, and was such a good boy. We took him to Grangemoor and he clearly really enjoyed himself, as did we. He has such an expressive and crumpled face, he is absolutely stunning. He was partial to a sniff and a pee and would stop and snuffle and snuffle until he found his ideal spot to go. He has the waggiest tail I've ever seen on a Sharpei. He is a perfect boy who will make someone a loyal and loving companion.

Oh dear, I've fallen very far behind on my walker tales from the past week! Whoops.
Last Sunday I popped down to the Home on my own for some solo walks and couldn't resist a squishy Shar Pei face. Taz is a perfect gentleman and very friendly towards everyone! His curly tail starts to wag as soon as he sees someone who looks like they'll pay him some attention, so this is going to be one very affectionate member of the family. He walks wonderfully on the lead and I had no issues with him walking past other dogs. Taz showed a little interest but was far more keen on having a good sniff around the estate. His skin is still quite sore looking but that doesn't stop him from having a good old cwtch. We didn't get very far though, and no time for photos, because as soon as I stopped for some water and treats a car pulled up and two prospective rehomers popped out! They fawned over Taz for a few minutes and then they drove down to CDH as Taz and I headed back so he could have some proper intros.
I doubt this handsome man will be waiting long to find his forever family, who're going to be very lucky indeed to have Taz in their lives!
