Meet Max Poor Max has found himself in cdh after having a bit of a rough time out wandering the street, Max was hit by a car while out straying, but thankfully has only suffered minor injuries and is in the best place he can be now, safe from the dangers of wandering the streets. He seems to know that he is in good hand and has been very good and saying thank you to everyone who has been looking after him. Especially when they give him a bit of attention and TLC Max appears to be a mature gentleman, but this hasn't stopped him playing in the vets room with the toys and if he wasn't sore from his recent accident, we think he would have been running circles around us. But for today his was content to chill with his toys Max is available for rehoming from 14th September. If you would like any information on him please phone the Dogs' Home: 029 2071 1243 or visit Cardiff Dogs' Home, Westpoint Industrial Estate, Penarth Road, open 7 days a week, 10.30 - 4pm. I had the privilege of taking this handsome little man out for a quick but chilled out walk on Saturday. He's much smaller than I was expecting and such a gentleman. Despite all Max has been through, and it's obvious he's had a very tough go of things, he's wonderfully gentle and very laid back. It was quite warm on Saturday and Max can't go out for very long, so we just sauntered down to the estate and back around in a loop, stopping every now and then for a little breather and some water (not that Max would drink anything ). Max walked at my side or just ahead of me without pulling even a little, and was happy to head in whatever direction I pointed him in. Even with his past troubles with cars, Max had no issue walking next to the busy main road for a few minutes as we looped around the estate. I was told by staff to watch him around other dogs as he can be reactive, but just walking past them we had zero problems and Max was happy to just pass on by. Obviously this doesn't mean he's happy being in the company of other dogs, but the fact he seemed comfortable mostly ignoring them from a distance is still a pretty big positive! As we weren't out for very long I didn't get much of a chance for cuddles. Max was pretty eager to keep exploring while he still could, and it's only thanks to Pete that I have a photo of Max's handsome face because every other photo I took was of his bum . He took his treat very gently but wasn't overly bothered by treats in general - but maybe it was just my treats! I really hope Max finds his forever home soon. He's not had an easy life and he's getting on a little in years (though still young at heart!), so it'd be wonderful to see Max living in the lap of luxury and being spoiled absolutely rotten. This boy needs a big, soft, and comfy sofa stat!

I am pleased to say that Max is settling in well in his new home with us. He has enjoyed walks with his new Basset buddy, Merlin and has been busy exploring the parks in Pontcanna and Llandaff, making lots of new pals. I'm glad we got him way too many toys because he's super playful and had enjoyed playing with them all. Especially the toys that he can get treats out of... Although I think he's favourite activity is lounging in his new bed (along with laying on ours!). We are so happy to have adopted Max and he has already slotted in with our little family. He truly is a special little dog.
