Isn't she lovely? Please welcome our gorgeous newbie, with her 'question mark' tail, Lady Lady was brought in as a stray, and although she is microchipped the staff have been unable to contact her owner via the contact details on her 'chip. We had the pleasure of Lady's company in the garden today. Some might say she is a tad overweight, but we say that's just where she keeps her awesomeness! Lady is a gentle and loving American Bull Dog, trusting and serene, and as her owners haven't come forward to claim her she is now available for rehoming. Put it there beaut! We'll find you a lovely home - promise! If you'd like to meet Lady please phone the Dogs' Home: 029 2071 1243 or visit Cardiff Dogs' Home, Westpoint Industrial Estate, Penarth Road, open 7 days a week, 10.30 - 4pm. Lady is such a sweetheart!
Every time I take her for a walk she comes rushing out with a proper smile on her face and her 'question mark?' tail wagging for all it's worth!!
Lady is quite laid back around other dogs and we walked alongside Dougie the greyhound yesterday which she seemed to really enjoy. She does like a little trot - so if you're fit enough to jog slowly next to her it keeps her moving as she can be a bit hesitant leaving the safety of the lane.
Lady loves fuss and cuddles & is a real softie - she just needs a comfy forever sofa to curl up on.

It was 'Date Day' today! With the agreement and supervision of the staff lots of our dogs got to meet some of their fellow residents. It was definitely a 'Ladies Excuse Me' date - Lady chose the most handsome boy on the block to step out with - Shadow! Shadow knows how to woo a lady, and he took her into the garden after their walk for a bite to eat... Lady likes his style! Lady loves her food, and Shadow would gently advise any dog who would like to get to know Lady better not to get a sharing platter - because that's NOT how Lady rolls Lady is definitely a 'what's yours is mine and what's mine's my own' kinda gal

Tried my best to get this lovely Lady to walk today but she just wasn't in the mood for a stroll and laid down in the lane and refused to move forward!!!!! I tried my best happy face and clappy hands to persuade her but the only thing that worked was a treat hidden in my hand!!!! Oh yes please, I'll have some of that!!!! Managed to get her to the bridge, with two treats but as our lovely Lady really needs to keep OFF the treats we turned round and headed back. But the sun was shining and we decided to plonk ourselves down in the corner of the industrial estate car park and have a little cuddle!!! What a cuddle monster she is, trying her best to fit onto my lap!!!! Such a lovely, lovely girl!!!! ❤️🐾❤️😍

I'm so late with my write-up for you, sorry gorgeous girl! I took Lady out a few Sundays ago and while she was reluctant to leave the estate at first, after a couple of loops around and letting her somewhat lead the way, I somehow managed to convince her to have an explore. Once out of the estate Lady was far more confident and we enjoyed a lovely walk for about an hour or so. She walked wonderfully on lead and would look back at me every now and then to check I was still with her, but for the most part was happy to have a nice sniff and explore. Lady is very partial to treats so I had to be sparing, though 'imaginary' treats work just as well, as do cuddles! Lady is such a cuddle monster - she's like a cuddly polar bear! The main issue I had with Lady was actually getting her back to the Home after our walk. We made it to the little loop in Grangemoor Park and when I tried to turn back around, Lady wasn't having it. She fixed me with those gorgeous doe-eyes and kept looking further into the park. I was doing my best not to give in but Lady is a tricky girl to get moving when she doesn't want to, so I figured if we went around the loop then she's be more willing to keep heading forward - in the direction of CDH. Well, Lady is far too clever to fall for that and she promptly sat down again, staring at me sadly as I tried to lead her home. After a minute she lay down, all while still guilting me with that gorgeous face of hers she knows how to tug on the heartstrings. While lying down, another dog walker came down from the hill and thankfully put her dog back on his lead. Lady was curious but very well behaved, and I had a quick chat with the walker (from a good distance) as she had a little chuckle at my predicament . But it really was time to be heading back and I had to pull out my 'is this a treat?' trick, which worked like a charm. She wasn't exactly thrilled that there wasn't really a treat but a quick fuss and she was happy enough to keep going. Lady has the sweetest temperament and, with a little regular exercise, she'll be fit as a fiddle in no time. It's amazing she's been at the Home as long as she has - surely someone has a Lady-shaped space on their sofa and in their hearts!
