Please welcome Jake Jake arrived at CDH with his best friend in the whole world, Sophie, and although they can't share a kennel, they love stepping out together and Jake always has a kiss for his bestie! Jake is rather shy and skittish, we're pretty sure neither dogs have been walked on lead before, and Jake finds it quite difficult to go out into the big wide world without his little friend by his side, so walkers - you can't take one without the other for the time being Jake is a handsome young fella, and seems in fab condition physically, but he is a little bit on the back paw regarding basic training, so be prepared to start from scratch! Jake still finds everything a bit new and confusing, and his tail is often tucked between his legs when he is worried, but he's just a youngster, and has it all to learn. Don't be worried little fella - people are nice Jake! It's extremely unlikely that anyone is going to come forward to claim Jake, so he will be available for rehoming from 15th October. If you would like more information about Jake or any of the dogs for rehoming please phone the Dogs' Home: 029 2071 1243 or visit Cardiff Dogs' Home, Westpoint Industrial Estate, Penarth Road, open 7 days a week, 10.30 - 4pm. I tried to walk Jake today, but the poor thing seemed terrified. His tail was between his legs and he kept turning around to go back to the kennels. I took him back after about 15 mins and as soon as I turned around he picked up speed when he knew he was going home! He will need plenty of TLC, but he is an absolute darling and would be a lovely pet for someone with patience and love for him to restore his confidence.

Did the staff ask you to walk him with Sophie? He isn't used to being on lead, and he isn't very confident, he walks fine with Sophie though! x
