How utterly adoable is Missy? This gorgeous girl was signed over to Cardiff Dogs Home by a neighbouring local authority. Although she was rather underweight when she arrived at CDH, she has been enjoying six square meals a day, and she is looking and feeling a lot better than when she arrived. Missy is an absolute joy to be around - she is hysterically funny! We had ructions with her in the garden today, she is such a goofball, you just can't help loving her! As Missy has been signed over, she is available for rehoming immediately, and we don't think she's going to be waiting long - Missy really is one of a kind! If you'd like to meet her please phone the Dogs' Home: 029 2071 1243 or visit Cardiff Dogs' Home, Westpoint Industrial Estate, Penarth Road, open 7 days a week, 10.30 - 4pm. You won't be disappointed, Missy will steal your heart the moment you meet her! For more information about the rehoming process at Cardiff Dogs Home, please click here

I met the wonderful Missy on Saturday and agree that she’s an absolute joy to be around. Despite how strong she is, Missy walks really well on the lead, not pulling at all. She was very interested in saying hello to other dogs, even with a language barrier, she behaved very well when an off-lead Frenchie toddled up to us. Missy is a lovely girl, I’m sure it won’t be long until she finds a new family!

I walked Missy this afternoon and she is such a lovely girl. We started off at a gentle pace, and she wasn't quite sure if she wanted to go for a walk at first. But she changed her mind, and as soon as we were off she picked up her pace. She was absolutely enthralled when we stopped by the boatyard and watched a couple attach their boat to their car. And she really wanted to get into the water when we went by the river. She is a real character and I can't imagine she will be here very long. Missy , you were an absolute pleasure to walk.

Well I couldn't resist taking Missy out again. She is such a character. She comes out of her kennel, gives you a look that says "are you worthy of me?" , takes 5 minutes to consider her options and then she's off like a rocket. She is just full of character, and when something catches her eye, she can really move. She loves to stop for a fuss, and nothing seems to bother her on her walks. I hope this girl gets her forever sofa soon as she'll make a gorgeous addition to someones family .

I'd met Missy earlier in the week when a group of volunteers picked her as their date to take out for a pub lunch. Missy was apparently the perfect companion at the pub although she's not a fan of roast potatoes. Much prefers some roast beef! 😁 Over bonfire weekend, Missy has been struggling to cope with the noise in kennels. So when we volunteered to sit in on Sunday evening I was delighted when we were asked if would sit with Missy. It was the first time either of my girls had met Missy but instantly the 3 of them became firm friends and I think it's fair to say that Missy felt much more relaxed being with people. Such a lovely friendly girl. I hope she finds her forever home soon!

You might remember this beautiful lady from the past induction. She is still just as interested in treats. Unfortunately we didn't have any for her today/ didn't want to ruin her dinner at 3:30 PM, but still managed to convince her to at least stretch her legs in the garden. Apparently it happens quite often with female bull breeds that they don't want to leave the kennels with people they don't know well, so it might have been a bit of that too. Missy is very expressive so we got a whole bunch of funny photos for the short time we've spend with her. Enjoy... "Wait! Who are you, again? And why are you taking me out now? You know they will be serving food soon, right? Can't miss that!" "Aaah, a new walker, I see. Can we go back, tho?" "Got garden time, oh yeaaah." "I smelled AND SAW a big bag of kibbles. Why did you close the door on me?" "Fine! I will wait for dinner then, but I will have you know that I fully expect to get treats on all my walks. Walking with me is a privilege that must be earned normally!"

We walked the lovely Missy for the first time today. We were told she is a bit reluctant to walk at first and that when she sees another dog she refuses to move until the dog has passed. Well she was a little reluctant to walk when she first came out but a quick shake of our treats tub soon sorted that! After that she was fine, she did show some interest in passing dogs and refused to budge until they had passed but no big problem. She is a gorgeous looking dog and has very soft fur. She answers to her name and loves a treat or two and takes them ever so gently. She walked very well on the lead, although you have to go where Missy wants to go not where you want to go! This girl definitely has a stubborn streak but with a little persuasion she will give in after a while. I loved walking her, she was a delight. And who could resist this face??

Would you take a look at this gorgeous girl! I decided to go down the list to whoever was waiting next for their morning walkies, rather than pick out names I recognized, and I'm so glad I did! Missy is such a sweetheart and walks so wonderfully. She was a little hesitant to leave the Home after the staff brought her out, but with some gentle coaxing and the promise of a treat, she was only too happy to keep trundling onward. Much like with Ruby, Missy is very partial to a bit of a cuddle and often treats weren't needed at all to get her moving again - I just needed to crouch down, open my arms, give Missy a little cwtch and a fuss, and she was ready to head off into the crisp Autumn morning! As we walked Missy would look back every so often to check on me, and was quite responsive to my voice as I rambled on about nothing (sorry Missy, but thanks for listening!). We didn't meet many dogs but those we did she was fine around, showing a little interest but otherwise happy to move on past. She did seem quite eager to say hello to a few joggers but stayed at my side when we moved to give them space. Missy also got top marks for her green cross code knowledge, and patiently waited with me at the roads whenever I asked. She took her treats very gently and patiently, and we had the most lovely cuddles while watching the boats go by on the water. Another wonderful cuddle-monster for my Friday walkies! We also stopped by to say hello to a group of juvenile swans, but as the swans paddled closer I managed to convince Missy to beat a hasty retreat. This gorgeous girl would love nothing more than to have a sofa of her own to cuddle up on, fingers crossed she gets her wish before christmas!

Blooming love this girl so it was with great joy that we discovered she was still waiting for her 1st walk of the day when we got to CDH this morning. One of the staff members said that Missy had been a bit reluctant to walk the previous day, having ended up with 15 mins walking round the car park. But we were lucky that Fudge hadn't long left and once Missy spotted him half way up the lane she was happy to follow at a good distance. We managed to get Missy all the way to Grangemoor park with no problems. I think she would have happily stayed out for longer than we did (45 mins in total) but I was little concerned that she'd get tired too far from home, plonk herself down and refuse to move. I may have had an extra weetabix for breakfast but I wouldn't fancy carrying this girl back 🤣 I can't understand why Missy is still waiting for a home. She's a friendly girl who loves company. I hope that she gets her forever sofa in time for Christmas! cloud.tapatalk.com/s/5a1894c38a036/VID_29900731_064915_500.mp4

I was lucky enough to take this gorgeous girl out again on Saturday and she is just such a wonderful walking companion. I did encounter Missy's more stubborn side a few times, mostly when she wanted to go a different direction, but a few cuddles and some persuasive pointing (I'm sure the Saturday traffic loved me, pointing to a path and then looking back at Missy pleadingly at the side of the road! ) and she was willing to follow my lead. Missy is a little dwt and still needs a bit more weight on her (her waist is so teeny!), but she's got some good muscle behind her so when she decides she doesn't want to budge, it's not quite so easy to move her along without her say so She is very interested in other dogs and was a little keen to head over to say hello, especially to the smaller ones, but she's super responsive and behaved herself beautifully. Missy is a pretty big fan of treats but she's incredibly gentle taking them, though still not entirely sure about sit/paw in exchange. Surely just being allowed to be in her gorgeous presence is reason enough! She's a smart cookie though so I'm pretty sure she'd be willing to learn, as she behaved wonderfully at the crossings when I asked her. When we stopped for photos, Missy cuddled right in for some good old cwtches, hopping up onto the bench when I patted the space beside me. Surely there's a home out there for a snuffly, gorgeous, cuddly bulldog girl? Who can resist those sad eyes?!

We were happy to have the pleasure of Missy's company on Sunday afternoon last weekend. Although Missy can sometimes be a stubborn girl, she came out of kennels definitely on a mission to burn off some energy and we set off at a good Missy pace towards Grangemoor Park. The last few times I've taken Missy to the park we've stuck to the well beaten path. Having my children with me on Sunday encouraged Missy to be a bit more adventurous and we spent some time climbing to the top of the park and exploring the long grass and muddy puddles. She had a blast! When we got back to the Home, the sensory garden was unoccupied so we were able to go in for a bit of off lead time. Initially Missy seemed a bit unsure about what it was she was supposed to do. She followed us around for a good 10 minutes before one of the girls found a toy that she did like and then Missy realised it was play time. She had no problems in showing her inner pup is still in residence! youtu.be/2jrEVHuqjiwyoutu.be/AnXeWZyHF0sA great time was had by all! Before Missy headed back into her kennel, one of the staff asked if we could dress her in her new specially made just for her jumper. We think she looks rather fabulous! And no doubt it will keep help keep her warm through the colder weather. Missy really is the most fabulous dog. She loves playing with my children. She's happy to walk and explore (when the mood takes her) and she's happy to cuddle and cwtch when she fancies a quieter day. I would love to see Missy on her very own forever sofa in time for Christmas. She more than deserves it.

Oh Missy Moo, I finally got the opportunity to walk you! You were fabulous on the lead, but I'm sorry I didn't have any treats, I know you were hoping for some. Even though it was only a quick walk because of the weather it was so nice to spend time with you. You really do deserve the very comfiest of sofas, you are a darling.

Missy giving her best ‘please find me a forever home before Christmas’ face! This girl is really a sweety, she took a bit of persuading (with love and attention) to get going down the drive, but after she decided to walk, there was no stopping her. She was great on the lead and rather spritely for an older girl. Her face here was probably becuase I had taken the liberty to sit down for two seconds and take a photo. She definitely enjoys her time out and would definitely be a trusty furry friend to anybody who’s willing to give her the love and care all dogs need!

Hi Salvy78, Missy is still looking for a forever home. She loves children, although mine are well past the toddler stage. You can see her playing with them in one of the links in a post above. She is dog friendly. Why not pop down and meet her? The home is open from 10.30am for rehomers. Hi, is Missy still available for adoption , do you know if she is okay with other dogs and toddlers
