Please welcome pretty frenchie girl Tallulah
Tallulah has been signed over to the Home due to a change in circumstances.
She is 3 years old, and she has a bit of a sore nose as the moment, but apart from that she seems as fit and well as any other flat-faced dog.
Frenchies are known for a number of inherent health issues, and although Tallulah is an adorably sweet little girl, if you are not aware of the syndromes that are sometimes associated with brachycephalic dogs it's worth doing a bit of research before you fall in love with Tallulah! Google is your friend
Tallulah is incredibly friendly and affectionate, she loves kisses and tummy tickles, and doesn't want to spend Christmas in kennels. She wasn't massively impressed with her Santa hat either
Those pinched little nostrils makes it quite difficult for Tallulah to breath naturally, so if you can't bear a snorer or a snuffler, she may be not the one for you!
The staff at the Home would prefer Tallulah to have a home with breed experience and plenty of time to attend to her daily beauty routine! Her skin folds will need lots of care and attention to prevent them becoming sore.
If you'd like to meet Tallulah please phone the Dogs' Home: 029 2071 1243 or visit Cardiff Dogs' Home, Westpoint Industrial Estate, Penarth Road, open 7 days a week, 10.30 - 4pm.
There is a good reason why the staff prefer applications from someone who has previously owned, and can provide evidence of timely and appropriate veterinary care for brachycephalic dogs.
Many if not most of the incoming flat-faced dogs arrive with veterinary issues and have been signed over or abandoned because of financial implications and/or lack of veterinary care. So it's understandable that the staff would prefer to take applications from someone who can evidence that they have previously been able to provide the care these dogs need.
Also, please note Tallulah would like to be an 'only child'. She will not be rehomed to someone with a resident dog.
