Well hellooooo there Mateo This fab little fella is just under a year old, and he has wowwed the staff and volunteers from the minute he arrived! He was signed over to Newport City Dogs Home as he was gifted to an elderly lady who simply couldn't give a lively young and energetic pup the life he needs. Mateo is a happy and stunning little fella! We don't know anything about his breed mix, where he got that cute little pink nose, or those comically giant ears! He's about the size of a compact corgi, and he's bursting with energy! Mateo is fabulously well socialised, and has met lots of his fellow kennel pals. We had a bit of play-date puppy madness in the garden this week! Race to the hub guys!!!! Bas may have stole a slight head start... C'mon Mateo! You can do this! Losing ground..... those little legs don't exactly have the edge when it comes to a flat race eh Mateo? Mateo hasn't put a paw wrong since the moment he arrived - and we don't think he'll be hanging around for long! So if you'd like to meet him pop up to Newport City Dogs Home soonest! Contact NEWPORT CITY DOGS HOME TEL 01633 290 902 between 11am - 1pm and 2pm - 4pm, on weekdays, 11am - 1pm and 2pm - 3.30pm on Saturday. Please note: the home is CLOSED on Sundays. Rehoming fees are from £120 depending on the age/breed of the dog, and include 1st vaccination, flea & worm treatment and neutering.

Is there any way of being informed if things don't work out and he was to be returned?

Gutted. I did enquire about him weeks a go but didn't get any response. Did you visit the Centre or contact them? Details on how to apply are at the foot of each dog's rehoming thread. Do keep looking, both centres have new incomers very regularly. x

Poor Mateo has been returned. He had so much interest when he first arrived, but there are never any guarantees that things are going to work out quite as planned, and Mateo has come back. He seemed a little unsettled when we brought him out today, so we are going to give him a day or so to settle in before he meets his former buddies, Bas and Sully. Hopefully Mateo is still the confident, socialised little fella he was when he first arrived.

Mateo's paws hardly touched the floor before he was snapped up! We've got our paws crossed it's better luck second time around for this fab little fella and his lovely new family!
