This darling Gent was recently offered 'for sale, £30' on a Facebook selling page
It seems there were no takers though, as soon afterwards Lynx was found abandoned 
We're kinda glad that dogs can't read and don't 'do' social media. We're pretty sure it would break Lynx's heart to know his owners have done this to him. He's the most gentle and kind old fella, and although he was very obviously in pain from his arthritic hips, Lynx has shown us nothing but affection since the moment he came into the care of the staff and volunteers at Newport City Dogs Home.
Despite being in his senior years, Lynx still finds joy in the simple things of life. When he came out to meet us today the sun was shining, the grass was cool and luxuriously soft, and Lynx showed us his best 'roll over' - just because he can!
That's got to be worth a bit of sausage Lynx! And no surprises here, Lynx takes treats with the softest, most gentle mouth, his food manners are exemplary!
We introduced Lynx to Sully pup, and it was an absolutely joy to see how the company of a young dog brought out Lynx's inner puppy!
Sully adores his new bestie, and Lynx behaved like the perfect 'uncle' to his new young friend
We will be consulting with our vets to ensure Lynx has a thorough health check before he leaves for his forever home. He isn't neutered, but whether or not it's advisable to put this old fella under anaesthetic will depend on his general health, his heart, and whether or not he has any underlying health issues. We anticipate that Lynx will need some ongoing pain relieving medication and support for his joints, but from what we have seen Lynx isn't ready to hang up his lead for a good while yet, and the staff will be looking for a loving home for Lynx as soon as possible.
If you can offer a loving retirement home for Lynx and would like to meet him, pop up to Newport City Dogs Home! TEL 01633 290 902 between 11am - 1pm and 2pm - 4pm, on weekdays, 11am - 1pm and 2pm - 3.30pm on Saturday. Please note: the home is CLOSED on Sundays.
Rehoming fees are from £120 depending on the age/breed of the dog, and include 1st vaccination, flea & worm treatment and neutering.
