Deifer Dog is going to melt some hearts Deifer is a super-duper friendly fellow. He arrived as a stray and to date there has been no sign of his owner. We'll be sharing his pics far and wide! Huskies are reknowned for covering many miles in a short period of time, they were born to look for the horizon and just keep on running towards it! Although he's just a youngster Deifer seems well trained, very friendly and gentle around people, and he has a great sense of humour! He loved teasing the volunteers today with his 'catch me if you can' high jinx! If you'd like to meet Deifer please contact the Home on 01633 290902, or pop in to Newport City Dogs Home. No appointment needed!

I genuinely cannot believe nobody turned up to collect him? I think he was by far the cleanest, most healthy looking stray I have ever seen in my life. What a lovely, lively, happy boy too. I am sure it want be too long till somebody gives you your forever sofa. Lets just hope they have a groomer on speed dial to keep that coat pristine 😉

been told this breed are not very faithful will run off if off the lead is that true gorgeous dog The staff prefer applicants with previous breed experience for northern breeds. 'Not very faithful' is not how husky owners would describe their dogs! They make fabulous pets, but Deifer wouldn't be rehomed to someone who wasn't familiar with the breed as they are a bit special, needs lots of exercise, they shed their coats a few times a year and are renowned escape artists if their needs are not met.

Hi Scott.
Pop down to the home and meet the volunteers and Deifer. They'll be able to chat about the rehoming process with you and arrange for your dog to meet Deifer to see if the chemistry between them is right ☺️

Deifer has left the building Deifer had lots of interest and we are grateful to everyone who came to visit him. It was a difficult decision as we know some of the unsuccessful applicants could have given him a lovely home, but Deifer had a lovely application from a family who had previously owned a northern breed and this is always a preferred option for northern breeds, collies, and some other high energy breeds with specific needs. Deifer was a wonderful ambassador for his breed, and we were not surprised that so many people wanted him to join their families, but there is only one Deifer and we hope his other applicants will keep looking for their perfect forever friend.
