I just wanted to say a quick hello from myself and my dog, Patch. I visited the Home earlier today to register as a dog walker along with my son, and can't wait to start taking out some of the lovely poochies! I hope to find Patch a little friend in time but right now my working hours won't allow a second dog (I take Patch to work with me, I don't think I can stretch to two though!). Patch is a rescue dog.. my first dog... the best decision I ever made! My kids and I love him to bits! He's kind of taken over the house a little... He has a friend, Rufus, who he occasionally stays with when we are away. Rufus has his own throne in his kingdom.. Patch must make do with what comforts he can find.. Sometimes things can get a bit confused though... ...but solution is easy to find when you're amongst friends! ;D I'm looking forward to meeting some of you... I have tons of questions but will have a trawl through the forum first to see if I can find some answers... You're all doing a fabulous job here - I'm so impressed with the constant updates on all the dogs! Jo & Patch x

Hi Everyone! Lovely to hear from you! Thanks for your lovely replies. I am self-employed but share a small office with some other people who love Patch... but there's no way we could fit another dog in at present! I think I found most of the answers to my questions... it was about whether dog waste bags and treats were provided and how it was all run etc... One question though - we brought a bag of doggie treats as a donation, but as I left I thought maybe I should have checked first to see if there was a particular type the Home preferred? Also, I'm still working out how to find my way around here... is there a way to get notified when people reply to threads (a bit like Facebook).. as I think I will lose track of it all once I start posting more than one thing! Oh and.. what is a "S'WALK"??!! Thanks again!

Hi Jo I dont think the Home are choosy as to what treats the dogs can have, the dogs certainly arent choosy With regards to keeping up to date on posts, I find the easiest way is to click "new topics" towards the top of the pags (it has a yellow star next to it). This lists the newest threads that have been posted on the forum. Also, when you log in, any thread that is new since your last log in will have the word new in blue on the actual folder. Once you have read the thread then, the new disappears! The S'WALK's are a once a month walk where everyone who can make it turns up at the Home at the same time and we walk en- masse with the dogs! We take them for a nice long walk, its a good chance for the dogs to get out and socialise with each other and for the walkers to get to know each other. Hopefully see you around at the Home Becky

Hello Lovely piccies of Patch! Where did he come from? I have a soft spot for terriers My faviourite 'magic button' on the forum is at the bottom in the Info Centre - '100 most recent posts' That brings up everything that's been posted - not just the new threads ;D Welcome to the forum, and look forward to seeing you on our next S'WALK Susie

Thanks for the welcome! My son and I are going to the Home this afternoon to do a few walks. I am incredibly excited about it! Can't wait to meet some of these lovely doggies!! ;D ;D ;D Unfortunately we can't come to the S'WALK tomorrow as I had lessons booked till 12. We could come down after this but I'm thinking there will probably be no dogs to walk by then! I got Patch from Hope Rescue when he was 4 months old. He's a staffie/fox terrier cross. It was a bit of pot luck and going on gut instinct, especially as I've never had a dog before, but it was love at first sight and we've never looked back! I'm hoping over the next few months I'll meet a friend for Patch to share his enormous sofa with!
