I am interested Billy can you tell me If he is OK with cats and children we have 2 pugs and 2 cats so we must be sure. Lynne in Cardiff knows us. we had a dog from Hope rescue but it kept attacking our Trefor the pug and running after the cats but only to play.

Hello I'll be honest - I'm not 100% sure what the situation is with Billy now He had a firm home offer, and I know a lot of other people were interested in him, but because the offer was firm, no-one was added to his reserve list. I don't know what has transpired since. As with all the dogs at CDH, his history is unknown, but I do know that he is very young, very very sweet in temperament, he has been introduced to a few dogs and has been golden in polite puppy manners. If you haven't already spoken to the staff, give them a call quick as you can Billy's due date was 6th March, and he really should have flown out, and been settling in his forever home by now. Good luck, and if Billy isn't still available, or is not the one for you, please keep looking, and keep an open mind. CDH take in iro 1200 dogs a year, there's one with your name on it, that's for sure ;D

Hi baglady, I've only just seen your post - thank you! We've had Billy since Sunday and he is the loveliest, affectionate and sweet pup, we love him to bits . Even though it's been a big adjustment for him, us and the cat (and to be honest we've had some 'OMG can we do this?' moments) - this is his forever home and we're going to persevere, give him lots of TLC and watch him thrive. Pics coming soon. Sioned x x x

Sioned, I also had those ooooh deeear moments when introducing my dog as an older collie-x / lurcher puppy (she was 4 1/2 months) to the cat but they work it out. Things that worked for us... a firm "NO!" when she tried to chase the cat. Feeding the cat first (creating a pack order). Initially we used a baby gate but just for the first few days. Now they're bessie mates!! Hope all works out well. x Looking forward to the photos. ;D

Hi Kara's mum, it helped a lot seeing your pics - light at the end of the tunnel, thanks very much for that! We're still waiting for them to bond as the cat has been hiding under the bed for five days - but we're keeping the faith as Billy is such a lovely character and very respecful of her when she's not running : ) Your dog and cat are absolutely gorgeous Trying to upload pics but having technical problems! x

Hehe it's true! At least 5 people have known who he is before I've said anything while we've been out walking, including the man who originally picked him up a took him to Cardiff dog's home! He was really glad to see Billy again with an owner He is doing so well, he's slowly putting on weight and his coat is looking nice. He's good at coming back when he's off the lead (as long as you've got a treat!) and does an AMAZING run where he sprints with his legs going in every direction and his ears flying around! The cat is starting to come round too (thanks for the inspiration Kara's mum!). She has been downstairs and outside a lot, although she still stays upstairs more often than before. I'll try and get more pics soon . . . Lovely to see you and Megs last week Cheryl, see you soon hopefully x
