I managed to get there today to look about, my husband fell in love with Duke, he is such a handsome fella, we went to find out about him but were told we couldnt have him due to our youngest child being 4. Such a shame, Adam (my 4 year old) is not delicate and gives as good as he gets, hes very tall for his age and acts more like a 6 year old. We really hope Duke gets a home soon, we would of loved to have given him a home with us x

Hi there, Has Duke found a home yet? Thanks, Lowri Duke will be ready to go to his new home from 17 Feb, he's friendly but a little nervous at the mo, not surprising, must be wondering what's happening to him If you'd like more info, please phone the Dogs' Home: 029 2071 1243 or visit Cardiff Dogs' Home, Westpoint Industrial Estate, Penarth Road. Open daily 10.30 - 4pm

The last update a few days ago was that the original reserve had not happened and further reserves were being contacted. But your best bet Lowri is to phone/visit the Home and have a chat. If he is still there, put your name down and keep your fingers crossed

I have no idea how this amazing fella is a still here let alone on page 2. I can only assume its because everyone assumes he must have been taken! Seriously this is one lush boy who I would take home myself in a heartbeat if I could.

Skye I totally agree with you!! Chatted to him in kennels and he's even more beautiful in real life than in photos. He was looking quite sad in his kennel. I keep wanting to go and walk him, but we've been incredibly busy and I've not had that much time in the week during the time of the kennel's limited opening hours. I'd love to take him out to take some more photos... I guess maybe his size is what might put some folk off if you're in a smaller home? But I think he's lush!

Good Luck Su101! I've walked Duke a couple of times. He is strong on the the lead but most of the poundies are once they realize they're getting out for a leg stretch! ;D He is a lovely boy though. Stopped and waited while I took some pictures of him and then tweeted them! If you're used to gun dogs and prepared to give him some training he should do well. Looking forward to some good news for you and Duke really soon then!

oh what a gorgeous boy ! I have emailed about him Who have you emailed? Your best bet is to ring the home. Tel: 029 2071 1243 Put your name on his reserve list and go see him! He does look a bit bewildered in kennels, poor thing, but he really is a lovely boy. Let us know how you get on!

I emailed the kennels, but yes I will ring and go see him, we are used to gundogs having had pointers previously. We lost our last boy to severe epilepsy last year he was a rescue from GSP rescue , he was a nightmare to walk at first having been not walked hardly at all in his previous home but with a bit of training he soon got the hang of it and he enjoyed doing some scurrying training too so maybe Duke will enjoy that
