Saw Bullseye today in his kennel, lying in his bed looking very sad. Does anyone know if he is up to short walks yet? I would like to meet him properly. I have done my back in so we could have a short walk, post injury walk together maybe? Poor guy, in need of some proper love and TLC. Also, too early to tell I am sure (what with the more pressing issue of getting him better), but any restrictions on his possible re-homing to a home with kids and another dog? Also..small general query...any re-homing of any dog would depend on our lab...does anyone know who I need to check with before bringing her down to 'parallel walk' with one of the dogs? (thanks for the article Susie, on parallel walking). xx

Bullseye came out of his bed today and took a few treats off us when we were in the kennels, so he must have picked up a bit.
He looked a little sad and run down but seemed pleased to have someone chatting to him, poor old thing. I just wanted to reach out and give him a big cwtch!

Jo, didn't he look skinny bless him? From what I could tell, he looked as if he could be quite big when he is the correct weight and he looked handsome under that tired expression. Its probably just the nurse in me, but I am dying to feed him and tuck him in to a warm bed (not quite literally, of course). A lovely boy

She may say a member of staff should be there to make sure the introductions go well, but it should be fine ;D

I saw Bullseye today too. He came out of his bed to front of his kennel to see me then walked slowly back to his bed. He looked so sad. I felt sad for him, almost in tears. In fact I'm almost in tears everytime I think of him. Sending lots of love your way Bullseye.

Yes he did look quite thin actually and I wasn't sure if he was maybe sitting a little awkwardly, I thought maybe his legs or hip was painful. Has he had treatment for this do we know? I'm longing to give him a big hug and belly rub too!

I am so ashamed sometimes of being a member of the human race, which has more than likely put poor Bullseye into the state he is now in, and so many other poor creatures suffer even worse fates. But it is a comfort to see the love and care from so many people on here. Some of us are different, Bullseye.

Poor Bullseye His condition doesn't seem to be improving does it He is certainly being helped with all the pain meds he needs atm Jo, and is being assessed daily for any signs of improvement or deterioration. Poor boy, he must be so bewildered

You are right Susie, he does seem bewildered. Bless him. The much needed analgesia is probably making him seem less stable on his feet too??? It must also be quite frightening to be in the kennels, with the noise and mix of smells, nevermind the altered vision, pain and lethargy caused by the pain meds. I expect the staff are getting some sneaky cuddles in when they can?? Well done to the staff for their great care of him. It can't be easy for them to see a dog damaged in this way. I would love to bring this boy home and help him recover but I expect that this would not be possible just yet during this period of uncertain recovery?

After another full consultation, it was decided to let Bullseye go this morning.
Run free Bullseye, happy and painfree, knowing that you touched so many people and are taking so much love with you, you will not be forgotten.
